I have two over my 40b but its a bit over kill, for a cube, 1 will be more than enough.

I just ordered one for a 24X20 cube...they will cover a 24' spread but only if the tank is under 12' high

however I have seen one cover a 36' spread so it is up to you

Dimensions? I have one A160WE over my 18x22x22 cube and honestly, I would have two if my tank was more than 18 inches. I know that the visible light can be seen up to 24 inches, but I wouldn't trust it for SPS that far away from the light. Maybe softies and other low light corals might do well in that area, but they might grow slow. I would go with at least one A360WE for your 40G or at least 2 A160WE's. I'm assuming that your tank is 24 inches long.

I would go with the 360we. unless you dont have a lot of rock work. I have 2 of the 150's over my 34g cube and its perfect so im thinking no way i would even consider 1 over anything larger.
