I finished setting up my sump a couple of days ago.
I'm using a converted trickle w/d sump. Converted to a mechanical sump.
My overflow box has a 1" U tube with a new washing machine discharge hose, works great.
The hose leads down to my CPR Aquatic 4" Sock-It filter. The washing machine discharge hose fits very tight in the inlet tube of the sock filter. Makes for a very good piece of mind knowing that the hose won't pop out of the sock filter.
I'm using a SKY 731 protein skimmer that is doing a great job after geting it tuned in.
My return pump is my SunSun 704b canister filter with the filter pads taking out and only have ceramic rings in it.
In the future I plan on putting some cured live rock in the return chamber.
