I need some opinions/suggestions. I am having issues with my PH since winter has gotten here. Like, I'm sure, others are too. It is not feasible for me to run my skimmers venturi intake out side because of the location of the sump. I do run a small amount of cheato on a reverse light cycle but my PH struggles to stay above 7.9.

What do some of you do besides running the skimmer line outside? Should I try other types of macros? Or would that even really help?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

get the chaeto thriving and/or expanded and the pH will rise.

At least I think so. :squigglemouth:

Dave how about your other parameters, are they in line?

What size is your dt, sump and fuge? make sure you have enough water volume with the sump/fuge you're using while lit up at night. If it is too small and your display is large, you might not have enough water volume being constantly lit up at night to keep PH from dropping. And as others asked, what are your water parameters?

Ok here are my parameters checked 3 days ago all with elos kits

Ca 435
Alk 8.5
Mg 1450
Salinity 1.026
Ph 7.8-7.9 (today was a little warmer and I opened the window closest to tank for a couple of hours and Ph is 8.19 right now) measured with probe continuously.

My DT is 220
my sump/fuge is a 75 gallon tank modified with a 30-35 gallon fuge area and probably 20-25 gallon sump area.

I think it's doing pretty well. It has doubled in size since I got it 3 weeks ago. Are there any other Macros you suggest? I know your the pro on macros!

Brs sells co2 scrubbers that you add to the airline of the skimmer or you can open the windows or doors for thirty min to exchange the co2 with clean air

I have seen those but I haven't heard of anyone using them and I'm kinda skeptical.
