New ATI Straton Flex LED

The question is will the Flex still be available one year from now in the USA or will it be did it be discontinued after ATI sells out of available inventory? It seems like the Flex can address different tank setups than the X so hopefully both will be available.

Currently you can see the shadows on the front of my ASD Mille and PC rainbow in center of tank.
Hard to judge from the photo....how high off the water are those?

I’ve had my Flex for about 3 weeks now and so far so good. I’m coming from an ATI 8x54w hybrid powermodule where I ran 50/50 B+ and C+ bulbs so have been trying to mimic those T5 lights. ATI has presets for varying types of corals. I may head back to the SPS setting but it’s much whiter that I like to look at. Anyone using the Straton find a good setting for SPS dominant aside from the preset?

Sweet tank! I find that the LPS+ or Toms Korallen works well for SPS.

Thanks! Cut up all my big SPS colonies last summer to re-scape and the newbies corals are settling in well.

I'll give those settings a look. I reached out to Tidal Gardens and they are using the LPS+ setting as well for their mixed reef and SPS. I have been tracking par with each intensity increase. I am running one on my 60x24x24 150 gallons tanks and its powerful. I am currently at 70% (10" above water line) and am at 180 on the sand where my acans sit.

I use the SPS+ setting for 4 hours a day, and then transition over to my modified version of Tom's Korallen, which is basically just Tom's Korallen with UV bumped to full (increased steadily UV over the course of 3ish weeks).

Gary what size tank is that? How is the coverage? 8 bulbs to 1 Flex seems crazy to me!

Doh I see you give dims in next post…

Thank you. There are directions in the box. But I have seen the same directions on their website.

Looks great 👍

I’ve been waiting on an open order of Straton Flex going on 2 months now. Definitely losing my patience. I’ve reached out to ATI North America and they can’t tell me when they will be manufactured. Sad when you finally find a light you like (and paid for) then they don't actually produce the light!
I even reached out a store in Europe to see if I could get there on an upcoming trip. They are also out of stock.
No luck even getting a response from ATI in Germany.

Ati realized that Flex isn't profitable. You can light a large tank with just one unit; it's better to sell three Straton X lights.
This… ATI seems to be focusing heavily on the Straton X right now. They’re riding the momentum behind it, so it doesn’t look like other lighting products are a priority until demand slows down.

Got my lights today! After sitting on back order for months I found a retailer with one in stock and was able to grab it.

Has anyone found a good way to hang it from a perpendicular light bar? Or links to some STL files for 3d printed stuff? Right now I just have the hanging kit looped over the bars but that’s definitely not ideal. I’m thinking of connecting the hanging kit to the light bar somehow?

I'm glad you got your lights. I have an ATI Flex 102 unit, and in a few months I'll design a bracket to connect it to the Flex rail. When I build it, I'll share the STL file with you.

If you're in a hurry, you can make it in Fusion 360. It's a free program, and for what you need to do, you only need to run simple parts.

Is there anymore?! I’ve had a back order open for almost 6 months. ATI ignores my emails. I have one already and the second was for the same tank. I’m tempted to sell one I have and get something else. This company doesn’t deserve my business.

Really disappointed to see this frequent model changing and weak support on the most premium fixtures available on the market :-/
