I paid the money to get the new boards so my lights will work with the new app. I'm going to swap the board out then sell these to off set the cost of the new light.Maybe try messaging him on here, or calling? When did your lights quit working, recently?Given how he responds to email I am guessing he will not be receptive to a warranty fix or replacement.
@GoReef165 Sorry for the late response.I'm in the same boat as you. I have the same tank dims for 180g (72x24x24) and I'm also waiting for their new "X" line to come out. So, are you thinking or have you heard that ATI is moving away from the longer Flex153 type of light? I thought this light was a great solution because I only had to buy 1 fixture and not 2-3.
I talked to the people at Stratton and they told me that “the X will be months from releasing, not days”. I was going to wait and get them but need lights sooner than later@GoReef165 Sorry for the late response.
No. I haven't read nothing about moving away from the Flex. Actually i saw some stores have them in stock.
I am with you that i prefer only 1 Power Supply vs probably 3 with the Straton. My main concern is that the 6" of the Flex really cover the 24" tank wide. We really don't have Corals upto there anyway but it is concerning. If somebody have them and can confirm will be appreciated.
The X is coming out before Christmas is what i read but we will need 3 of them to cover all way around. Actually going this route if one goes down we still can light the tank while it is resolved.
Decisions, decision, decisions. Jajajajajajaj
If you look back in this thread you will see a useful example of lateral coverage using one flex.@GoReef165 Sorry for the late response.

Let me check that out. For sure i missed it. Thanks...If you look back in this thread you will see a useful example of lateral coverage using one flex.
I attempted to get it as close to what I see visually. The contrast between darker areas and lighter areas are more pronounced in real life.

Could you post pictures of how your tank looks with the Flex lighting it up?I bought the Stratton Flex 153 for my 180g...72x24. This light is really nice! It covers front to back of my tank really well. I'd say 18-20" for SPS no problem. There is a slight shadowing towards the ends but that's to be expected for a light that's about 60" long and my tank is 72". I actually like it because it gives me places to place for my more light sensitive corals. The power saving on this light is insane. No cooling fans too.
Very clean setup and great spectrum on the lights!@slingfox
Here's a couple pix from this morning when the light was ramping up. It's about 50% on in these photos and I'm currently running them at 50% max. Don't mind my corals (frags)...colors are eh. It's been 3 months of fighting HIGH Po4 (uncured dead rock) and then going from Gen1 Radions to this new powerful light fixture. My corals are just hanging in there but not super happy yet. It will come! My tanks only been up and running for just over 3 months so it's expected. BUT ya, I love this ATI Stratton Flex 153!

It really is impressive coverage from a single fixture, especially at the ends. I’ll get some par readings when I get them up.@slingfox

I really like the spectrum I see in tank photos as well as videos. There is just something very pleasing with the light mix. Maybe I just drank too much of the Straton Kool-Aid already! It really is impressive coverage from a single fixture, especially at the ends. I’ll get some par readings when I get them up.
And the zero light spill. I think ati gets alot of goodwill from their T5 past .. me included. I think they’ve been acquired by Nyos recently (don’t quote me). I just hope they continue on the same path… perhaps with a bigger production capacity and more English language marketing thoughI really like the spectrum I see in tank photos as well as videos. Waooooo. These pics convinced me as i was a little worried on the shadows on the sides. Was going to wait for the X but to be honest, i prefer to have only one unit. Of course coming from T5 also. When I first got the fixture up and running I thought "Wow, these really have a T5 look"...and they kinda do. The spread is nice and consistent and also NO light spill. If you create a nice water break at the surface you'll get nice shimmer too. So it's the best of both worlds in so many ways. It's so clean and sleek looking, big PAR, No fans and sips energy. What elese can you ask for?

Glad I was able to help with your decision. I was on the fence for a few months going back and forth researching ALL my light options... watching every YouTube video I could find as well as reading this thread and any others about the Stratton Flex. Buying lights is such a huge decision in this hobby and they ain't cheap! So ya, I was also thinking, will this single fixture really work as I've heard? Now I can say yes it does.Waooooo. I have the same size tank. What height you have them in this pic?
Thanks in advance.
