Thanks for the replies. Yes I think I’ll have to get two in the long run but I’m going to start with just one and see how usable that light spread is at the bottom of the tank. My rook work should be encompassed as ive left a large margin around the rank for swimming space. However when things kick off I think I’ll get shading issues.
You might be sorely disappointed with just one Flex for your tank. For a 30" width you are going to need two. I can post a picture of how crappy coverage of one is for a 36" width later this weekend.

Yes please. My actual corral overage is only going to be 20” in the middle but I am expecting to add a second in future. Seeing a picture would be a big help.

Finally got it mounted and sitting 11" over the waterline. I agree that 24" coverage is a stretch, <20" is more realistic. Maybe if I mounted it a couple inches higher and ran it at 100% you could get sufficient light everywhere. It does spread the light quite well with less hard shadowing than many led fixtures but by no means is it a 1to1 T5 replacement.

The complete lack of side glare from the fixture is absolutely amazing.

I will have more info and numbers later this week.

Looking good.

I received the lights but ran into some issues while connecting them. For some reason, the light is showing as Flex G2 51 instead of 102, and Im only able to control one section of the light. I’ve already contacted ATI, so I’m waiting for their response.

I also ordered the Aquatic Life 48" fixture for a clean set up (on sale on their site for $219 can’t beat that lol) , and it fits perfectly. I just love me some T5s 😄

I attempted to get it as close to what I see visually. The contrast between darker areas and lighter areas are more pronounced in real life.

How high off the water line do you have them mounted? Which color profile and intensity are you running?

Just ordered the 102. Should be fun explaining the new light to my wife when I haven't even bought a new tank yet. Those details aside, I like the design of the flex. I've had my Maxspect Razor going for 12 years straight now and it's been flawless. Still growing SPS. I recently took it apart to clean for the first time and there was almost no buildup inside. I credit this to the light almost entirely using passive cooling (despite having a fan). That and the design really won me over. Hopefully there's a tank mounting arm solution ATI releases soon.

Note that ATI is coming out with a new light called the ATI Straton X. Expected to be available potentially as early as November. I was thinking about the Flex but am going to wait to see reviews on the X.

Note that ATI’s answer for more tank mounting options is the X model

And it looks awesome. The tank mount also.

Just vague mention of ?November? I have a feeling these are going to be aimed at smaller set ups but they look great. I assume there will be a ceiling mount option.

So I'm slow with posting but here are two pictures of my tank running the LPS/SPS+ setting at 80%. The light is mounted 11" over the water line and coverage isn't bad. My tank is 48x24x21 tall. I have my custom Orphek 36" bar running in the second photo which gives just that extra blue punch and gives a little more light in the front.

My biggest complaint with coverage are the left and right sides. I could probably raise the light another inch or two and increase intensity to take care of that.

In the first picture that is one of the 102 units? If so that is pretty nice coverage for one unit!

Just watched a video of the X. Pretty impressive par and coverage! I’m still rocking the Straton first gen and continually impressed with the sleek look, coverage, and par. ATI does not disappoint….
