Hello all from Arizona. I am here as an amateur. So new, I have no build yet. I am in the research phase and mostly for my husband. We both want a tank, him most of all.

I am so grateful for reef2reef. So much insight and knowledge. I check here when I do research on tanks lol with that being said I would love to share our journey on here once we start but taking advice to begin with. Tank brand thoughts? IM, Red Sea, Waterbox, UNS? Looking for budget and beginner friendly. Room for a little growth but we know if we are successful we can upgrade one day. More on the smaller side.

Are there any books or YouTube channels I can read or look at to help knowing the equipment and needs to start?

Hello and welcome! I do most of my research on r2r, however brs has a ton of great videos that also help answer questions. I also suggest joining some facebook groups as they can be helpful also. Maybe find yourself a good mentor with a nice tank. There will be a ton of contradicting information so it’s good to get a reliable source. Good luck!

Welcome to R2R! Check out Bulk Reef Supply's youtube channel. They have all kinds of great information as far as brands and testing

Hello and welcome.
All of the aquarium brands that you mention, with the exception of Red Sea are good choices. Red Sea has an unreliable record over the last few years with many seam failures.
Another possible choice to add to the list is Glass Cages.

Have you found the sticky section in the New to saltwater sub forum here on R2R. It has many articles for newbies. They are at the top of the page in the link below.

Really depends on what brand best suits you in my opinion I’ve always liked Red Sea and never considered anything else until owning a tank from glass cages
