in the process of setting up a 90gal. Thread is in the [Members Tanks section]

got the water filled up and the system running but im having some problems.
made a short 2min video to help explain my situation..

YouTube - sump issue

1. The skimmer; ASM G-1X- as you can see in the video.. it just over skimms the water.. i just turned it on 20 mins ago. i bought the skimmer used so idk if it will take some time or not. i played the adjustment thing a little but no difference.

2. (BIG problem for me..) Just like in the video.. the overflow is having some problems? The water level in the overflow box stays the same for a couple of seconds and then it drops. That sends HUGE bubbles in the sump thus splashing water around int he sump and also makes enough noise that i can it hear from another room.

Whats wrong here??
the return pump is a mag 7. does it have to do with the return?

Need to make the hole in your durso pipe bigger. Keep drilling it out until it steadies out and quiets down.

If you need to, you can put a ball valve on the output of the Mag 7 to slow the flow a bit, which will in turn slow the drain and quiet it down as well. Get the air hole the right size first, though.

Also, if you can, shorten the drain pipe up so it isn't submerged.

On the ASM - where is the wedge pipe? I couldn't see it in the video, but the way it was flowing it looked to be up all the way. Push the stand pipe down as far as it will go and that will lower the water level of the skimmer.
