Hi Reef2Reef Family. Im James Henderson. Based in Pinellas County FL. Home of Tampa Bay Rays and White Sand Beaches.
Been a High Tech Planted Tank guy for years. Been wanting to start a reef for ever, just wanted to wait for right opportunity and right deal to get started.
Finally i found my tank and at a great price. Here goes....
Im the type to go big or go home. I searched for years for a good deal on a large tank. Finally found 1 that a co worker of mine had to sell due to moving out of state.
220 Gallon Peninsula, Acrylic 72L x 24W x 30H
Stand & Canopy
Reef Octo 202 Skimmer
2 36" Reef Breeder Lights
Ecotech Vortech Return
2 Jabeo Powerheads
1 carbon reactor
1 GFO reactor
All plumbing
75 gallon sump
125lbs of live rock
Gravity Fed ATO
Algae scapers/Magnets
Plus livestock/coral that i traded in for $250 Store credit @ LFS
All in all, i paid $600 for a great deal. In the process of cleaning everything.
Then the big project of sanding & polishing tank out. No major scratches but i want tank to look as good as it can.
Anyone Polished an acrylic tank before? Id love some advice or pointers.
Im not rushing this by no means. As i want to buy a lot of equipment before i even start the set-up.
Any advise on equipment would be great. I want all LPS.
Thanks ALL
