So I contacted Populargrow and am looking at having a customer led bar built based on the Orphek Blue Plus bar…basically looked at the number and color of LEDs on the Orphek and tried to match it on the popular grow. Only difference is apparently they use the same bulb for the 460 and 470. This would work out to for a total of 27 LEDs on their 3’ bar. I’m trying to basically replicate (or get as close as possible) a T5 Blue plus bulb. Do you think this will work?

Buy a regular bar and some diodes off ebay and make it anyway you want.

The idea here was to save money. Those things are just as expensive as the lights I’m basically trying to copy.

The problem with using that many different diodes is spectrum blending. I have Orphek OR2 blue plus bars and they don't compare to Luca's (Quanta) bars. The meso blue is exactly as you described, ATI blue+ and the blending is second to none. I have three 3' meso blues and they're worth every penny. Plus, Luca packs more diodes than the others, which gives you more par and coverage. @telegraham @Lousybreed may be better suited to comment on your layout?
