So once again some of the acros are doing not so hot and this time i have no clue why

Alk-8.4
Calc-400
Phos-0
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
PH-7.8(i know its a little low, would this cause this much damage to them tho?)

Ive had these bulbs for close to 5 months now
(6 bulb t5 fixture 39w)

1 uv red sun
1 Gies. Aquablue + 15k
4 ATI Blue Plus

Acros have plenty of flow, also 2 of the montis arent looking the best either???

What is wrong now????

What test kits are you using? Has something changed? Temp, Salinity? What seems to be the problem? What do you use to dose? Really need somemore facts about the tank to get a better understanding whats going on!!
Good luck
Dave

Sorry

Tank stays between 79 and 81

Seachem Alk and Mag testing kit

API testing kit for all of the others

I use marine buffer for alk and ph

Coral boost for calcium

The tank is a red sea max 250 (66 gallons)

Here are pictures of some of the sickly

Is that Ph daytime? If so it could be dropping too low at night. Also what is your magnesium level? My montis looked bad when the Mg got low way before the LPS did.

Ph is daytime, didnt think about that, ill test once the lights go off and see if that is it

mag is 1600...bryopsis,that still wont go away

I would say your alk is not stable... If your alk and calcium stay stable ph is nothing to worry about, they go hand in hand.. My sps only tank runs 7.9 ph first time I have ever checked it in years lol... Gotta keep that alk stable....

On the montipora, looks like you have montipora eating nudis. Most of the time, when it is just starting to do that, and not peeling off the lime stone base its cause by a nudi, the acropora looks like it might have simple problems like what is being used to dose, start 2 part and maybe BRS dosing set.

Thats all I got.

My alk has stayed within 8-9 ever since my thread when it was very high..11.2 and my calcium stays between 400-480,but ill try to retest it again tonight

I havent seen any, at all, but im not saying there arent any, ill look for them tonight

Ok but ive been dosing these same things ever since the tank has been up, the brown acro u see thats all dead..used to over grow on the rocks, i couldnt keep it from encrusting, i fragged it a few times, and the frags encrusted in around 2 weeks...now i dose the same but it doesnt grow like that, so idk

They are very hard to see,I had to take a little magnifying glass up to the glass with the corals up close to th eglass and I could then see them.

With your corals growing fine all before, and then just having problems,it wouldnt be the dosing then,it would have to be somthing that was put in.

You put any corals in latly that might have started anything?Or notice any corals that you could have put in around the same time you started to have problems?

Ok ill try to do 2 part dosing

What exactly do monti eating nudis look like?

Ok thanks

Also, do you think these bulbs should be replaced kinda soon?

^^^^ ya my frag tank just went threw it... It got the best of my shortcake colony...:(
It was very slow tissue necrosis "stn" took almost 2 weeks to kill the acros but it did it's thing.... My alk only jump from 8 to 9 but it was over night and it was enough to take it's toll.... You can't go 4 days without dosing and then bring it up to par... Gotta do a little each day....:(

+1 stability all day and night

looks like a red bug on the left branch near the tip on the left hand picture? probably not the the complete cause of the problem but most certainly isn;t helping things if that is a redbug
