Not as bad as it sounds. I use a whole house filter which help tremendously

ill have to look into that not just for reef but everything. Water is so bad and hard here everything gets clogged up sooner or later even with softener.

that was why I put it in. Works well

Thats a good idea for my di outflow. How does the relay switch/change outflow from drain to your container ? A pic would realy help. I think of relay as on off like a car relay. But how would that relay change outflow instead of just turning a outflow on or off.

There are pictures of my setup on my build thread. It is a delay relay so when it turns on, the power goes to one water solenoid after the delay time is reached the relay switches the output to the DI solenoid.
