what a good looking frag rack o_O

dang where did u get those corals[emoji7]

Thanks gents. I give a lot away and end up getting a lot in return. It's always nice being able to trade frags with friends. The downside is some of my coral never turn into colonies when I'm constantly amputating arms -_-

Nature of the beast!

Looking good and packed Rakie.
One would not see dipping was going on for a while now.
Beautiful colours!

Thank you! Yeah they've looked happier, but you never think your tank is perfect you just see all your problems!

The only reason I don't like that frag rack is because it isn't in my tank!
Sweet! :)

Thank you! Send me a piece of that clown vomit and i'll send you something in return :D

Nice photos Tim.

Thanks Cody -- Let me know if you want anything.

So, I got some things. The big impressive thing is for a friend but I've gotta show it -- It's pretty cool.

Rakie,
Those are off the hook!!

Are your power outages over?

These corals were pretty sweet, I was stoked to pick them up. Only about 1/2 of them are shown right now -- The other half are in my tank or just a bad spot to shoot. I got a second rainbow acan frag, and a space invader. Also a monti from a buddy. that tiny lobo that's facing away from the camera is actually pretty sweet itself. Total pickup is 4 Lobos, 2 Acans, 1 Scolly, 1 Space Invader, 1 Monti. One acan is mine, the other is gonna be split, and 2 baby lobos are mine. The rest is going to a friend (including the crazy one)

Yeah the power outage was only one day thankfully!

Whelp, my lil lobo that is actually MUCH more colorful than I thought got munched on by my slightly larger lobo. Snails moved 'em around on the BB portion of my tank and made 'em kiss -_-

The brown lobo always beats the rainbow lobo. If there's not an existing law about that scenario I'll call it the law of $; That which costs more will suffer to that which costs less. Because reefing.

Anywho, here are some last minute shots when the lights were ramping down... My photos have been really lazy lately and not during peak lighting hours so colors are a little funky here.

So... I did a small thing

IMG_20180526_171033223_HDR.jpg

Plumbing this ugly thing into my system. I desperately needed some space for frags, and I wanted something a little taller than a frag tank so I could maximize light reflection (also why I painted it white on the outside before the black).

If this ends up looking too horrible or if I just need some type of change I may waste a few bucks on a nicer tank for this job... Maybe. But probably not.

Rakie,
Never thought about white paint for better reflection on the sides of a tank.
Have you seen other's do the white on their frag tanks too?

Thanks, Freddie

No -- But I know white is the most reflective color, white is visually "white" because it reflects all spectrums of light. Black absorbs all spectrums of light. Watching the BRS PAR videos they measured in every tank with a black background, lowered PAR against the black side of the tank. I figured if it makes a difference through the glass, painting it white will reflect more light.

That way this can be lit with a single AI PrimeHD, or perhaps a 2x24 T5HO.

I DID STUFF !

So I made this ugly beast...

IMG_20180526_171033223_HDR.jpg

Then I did this
IMG_20180527_205317975_HDR.jpg

So I could control the flow going this way
IMG_20180527_205321739_HDR.jpg

Getting it here, next to the cheapest overflow in the world
IMG_20180527_205333350_HDR.jpg

So that this ugly thing is connected
IMG_20180527_184224797_HDR.jpg

It's definitely ugly, but no denying the white reflects light very well..
IMG_20180527_201130861.jpg

So now I've got a frag tank plumbed into my system. Room for pesky corals like shrooms, zoas, frags, etc etc... I'm excited, been wanting this for awhile... having room is nice.

So I moved over some of the things that were unhappy sitting on my sandbed. It'll give me a good chance to see how acros react in the smaller tank with this weaker light. So far the white paint absolutely reflects a ton of light. I may be able to get away with a single AI PrimeHD for this frag tank. We'll see!

For now, a few pics
