They are expensive everywhere! If you got 3 years out of a terminal male flasher you are doing good, a little longer if it's not terminal yet. Not anywhere worth it for me, but to each their own.

Pretty short. IMO & IME, 4-5 years total life span.

Agree with TJ. Buying a terminal male like that might only give 6 months of enjoyment... But there's no way you'd get more than 3 years.

+1 to that, and to the 2nd point as well. I'd love to have nursalim just as much (maybe more), but I won't fork over more than $500 for a Paracheilinus any more simply for these reasons.

Thanks guys, I knew in my heart this was the answer but it helps reaffirm it hearing it from you guys :) if I can't get at least 5-10 years as a rough indication I can't justify the price then, will save it for a tinkeri or cirrhilabrus I think instead :)

(I always try and buy female wrasses too! I love the transition process and longer lifespan!)

I took over 100 pictures to come up with a sort of decent picture, and it is not that good. This wrasse is hard to take a picture of. But he is a very handsome fish.

Thank you, i also have a 3 year old male Potters, they are by far my favorite fish in the hobby and I would do a potter wrasse only tank if i could find enough of them.

Agree that it should be okay.
I don't like to put sand in an acclimation box, because if they bury it defeats the purpose of the box. However, with Anampses being more touchy, I'll typically put them in the box first thing in the morning and then release them near the end of the photo period (therefore, less than a day in the box).

Agreed normally one day should suffice, if aggression is still present then a few days maybe needed. That was the case for my Potters, another touchy species for me with a bad track record so I added sand for the few days it was in the box ....glad I did because this one made it.

Both my Naoko and Juvenile Eightline is getting fatter by the day. So far they are not bothering each other at all. Not much change with the Eightline but I got better pictures of my Naoko Fairy.

Just a common Meleagris Leopard and Negrosensis Leopard. I can't wait until they change sex.

Your meleagris is already starting to transition. You can see the pattern on the sides looks mottled, like the lines are starting to blend.

Here was mine when I got it, in Feb, 2017:

Not the best picture, but this is when it first started to change in January 2018. You an see the mottled pattern I notice on yours, and it’s more “blue” colored :)

And then, it really went fast just recently and completely changed

I don’t know if anyone remembers my moyer’s male who hid for a whopping 7 weeks when I introduced him to my DT

Here he is now... he is a PIG. He’s still really skittish though, and breaks the surface at least daily (Thank you, mesh top!)

Not sure if it's true for all leopard species but with my Potter's the first place the dots changing to lines became noticeable was on the face, just behind the mouth.

My Twistii is a beast. I have the A typical one.. She terrorized a female Blue Star wrasse (granted she was new to the tank), luckily I caught her before it was too late. Then she turned on my Leopard wrasse that was in the tank before her and she went into the sand and never came back out. The only wrasses she likes are her BFF, my Bluestreak Cleaner wrasse, who is her shadow, my male Blue star leopard and surprisingly, my other anampses wrasse, a yellowtail. Have a back up plan, just in case. I have mine for a few years and she is fine with all the other fish. Good luck with yours!

My melagris female is 4 years old and 5” long.

The new potters is doing amazing, fitting right in and eating reef frenzy with the big guys like nothing.
