Update: Currently Dosing H202 (Hydrogen Peroxide) Current dose is 356ML daily...Achilles came down with Ick and decided to see how it would work. Using a Versa doing pump and a Simplicity 5L Modular Dosing Container. Tried the Icecap dosing Container and was not impressed. -

Things on my list to do
  • Installing a Adaptive Reef- Deluxe XL Aquarium Controller Board
  • More reviews on YouTube.
  • Fixing my UV Sterilizer...Started leaking just before my vacation. :-(

Wow, it has been a while since I updated this thread...I am still around, and the tank is still running. Although it took a little bit of a beating over the summer as my life got messy and went out of control. Good news is things stabilized, and we reset. The poor tank was on autopilot and I lost a bunch of corals...A few fish also but that was due to the them picking each other off.

In the middle of a reset -
Added
- 3 Australian Stripey (Microcanthus strigatus)
- Bluestripe Snapper (Lutjanus kasmira)

Original plan was to add just one Stripey (3-8-2025) but the tangs decided they didn't like that idea and were beating the snot out of it...Put it back in the Introduction box picked up 2 more Stripey on the 3-9 and the Bluestripe Snapper. This seems to have resolved the aggression. Started dosing Hydrogen peroxide again to combat any diseases.

Corals added recently -
Colony Hollywood Stunner Chalice _AW
La Lakers Scroll Coral- Colony _AW

Frags:
Fire Beast Rhodactis - Aqua SD
Prismatic Splash Safari Chalice - Aqua SD
Beach Bum Monti - Aqua SD
Chiquita Zoanthids - Aqua SD
Deadpool Mushroom - Aqua SD
Toy Yoda Zoanthids - Aqua SD
Radiohead Zoanthids - Aqua SD
Glow Heart Mushroom - Aqua SD
Rainbow Montipora - Aqua SD

Glittering Bubble Tip Anemone - Aqua SD

Things continue to change and I continue to battle the tank whenever I change anything. I got my Pro-Max UV Sterilizer Amalgam High Output 3 inch 90 Watt - Lifegard Aquatics back up and running yesterday. I added some new fish and it set off a ich outbreak. Dumb me when I put in that Achilles back in May 2023
I didn't QT as the guy I bought it from had sworn it had been. It showed signs back then....Now that I decided to add more fish the outbreak began again.

So what have I been doing about this?
More to come on MinnFinn and Polyplab.
I dosed MinnFinn and it ticked off my Hairy mushroom and maybe even nuked a couple.
The Polyplab stuff is being dosed and I back off of Hydrogen Peroxide dosing.

Been doing some research on both products.

MinnFinn seems to be Peragreen 5.6%. diluted with buffering agents added.

1. Likely Buffers in MinnFinn
✅ Sodium Acetate – A common buffer that helps stabilize peracetic acid solutions by keeping pH within a safe range.
✅ Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) or Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) – Used to prevent excessive acidification when MinnFinn is dosed.
✅ Phosphate Buffers (Monopotassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, etc.) – These could be added to maintain water chemistry stability.

2. Stabilizing Agents
Peragreen 5.6% is designed for industrial/agricultural use, so it may break down faster than MinnFinn when stored.

3. NeuFinn (MinnFinn Neutralizer)

NeuFinn is used to stop MinnFinn’s action after 1 hour. It likely contains:

✅ Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) – Neutralizes acid and prevents pH swings.

✅ Sodium Thiosulfate – Deactivates remaining hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid to stop the oxidation process.

______________________________________________________

  • PolypLab Medic is a water conditioner containing crystallized peroxide salts and a reef-safe oxidizing agent.

All interesting to say the least. I did remove the ozone unit as it just seems to take up a lot of space and is a Pain in the neck.

Hi guys, been busy with the tank as of late. Pretty big updates. Reset the refugium,
bought a panta rhei cd42 to clean up my acrylic.
Lots of Zoa’s, bought live rock loaded with Corals, and more. I will update this thread and maybe do some more YouTube reviews and videos.
