How is the recovery coming? Would be a shame to lose such a beautiful LPS.

To be honest, I haven't played the tank much attention lately. Well, I've looked at the Menagerie, several times. Currently in love with that tank. I have walked by several times and I dump some food in at night.

I dont have a ton of experience with geoffroy so I'm just guessing, but I dont think they are as fleshy as my radiata... that thing is 80% flesh when fully inflated. It does appear to be inflated, and hasn't RTNed. Other than the dead spot, it looks healthy to me. I did see some of my emerald crabs on it the first night and then a nerite the following night. It had a little algae on the dead part, but that is cleaned off now. I'll take some pictures tonight and update.

Trachy hospital update... not much to say, still looks about the same. Algae is a lot better than when it came over. Tissue looks inflated on the healthy parts.

Those of you with geoffroy trachys... it looks about normal to you, or? I'm starting to wonder if this isnt a rainbow lobo... the skeletal structure and tissue is nothing like my radiata.

Healthy squishy bouncy update!

We haven't shown pictures of coral in a while. They are getting big.

And the squishy to end all bouncys...
Its 7.5" in diameter and 4.5" tall now. This isn't even fully inflated... I mean, that's a big as it gets, but it gets a little more squishy, and bouncy.

Pretty sure it's not a Lobo as they don't have continuous outer flesh in a single line like that one does. More like individual lobes. I think I have one but without expert opinion I'm not sure what my green one is. But his flesh is a lot puffyer, more like yours.

Wow, your LPS are all looking fantastically fat!
They are, seems that I have the acan and trachy green thumb. The purple and orange one up above was all fat and happy, until I flipped him right side up. Crazy acan, happy upside down, unhappy right side up.

I've killed another acro tho. The myagi tort. It was doing so well, but It STNed on me last week and is just about bare skeleton now. The tricolor that's inches away, colored up and growing. ‍♂️ I've decided to stick with montipora for SPS, I can grow it, it has just as much color as acropora, and it has more varied and interesting growth patterns.

LPS wil always win the color war to me tho, I've never seen a stick with the colors that these rainbow acans, scolys, trachys and others are pulling now.

Ok, that took FOREVER. I believe I answered my own question.

We went and dug thru the thread for the tank we do not speak of, and found this. Lobophyllia hemprichii frags look very similar to the geoffroy to me, until you see the skeleton. That is the bare skeleton. See, the geoffroy, and radiata have long blade like things poking out where the tissue grows on. They are a little jagged, but overall appear circular. Think metal circular saw blade, yea its got teeth, but step back and it's rounded.

Like this. (I'm blue and da bo de da bo da)

20190625_223647.jpg

Lobos, have long sharp spikes in their skeleton that easily protrude thru the flesh when they aren't happy. Like... this guy.

20180216_110259.jpg

All those little white dots are skeleton, not pretty sparkles. Like I mentioned before, that was the tank which we do not speak its name. So naturally, I have this to study...

20190625_223246.jpg

See the long spikes? They are still radial, but more like a garden tiller than a circular saw.

The rainbow coral, is in fact a Trachyphyllia geoffroy.

Hey y'all, there's a very exciting and important day coming up next week. It's the one year anniversary of the Fairy Tale... and to celebrate, We've decided to do a giveaway! That's right, Turtle is gonna GIVE AWAY a frag of one of his beloved corals. I'll work out the details, and reveal which coral will be given away later tonight.

Ummm, the second person to comment on the GIVE AWAY post wins, right? Ha!

Sorry for not updating last night. Work kicked my butt. We have a coral to give away tho so let's get to it.

The coral we're giving away is one of my original zoas that's been in the tank since it started. Felt fitting to me since this is a one year Fairy Tale celebration. I haven't found them anywhere else, so I call them Game of Thrones.

This is a healthy, 9 polyp frag! I can't believe Turtle decided to just give this thing away... Speaking of give away, we need to go over how to enter. Check out the FTS below and then comment on this thread with your favorite part of my tank. Fish, coral, equipment... doesn't matter. Let me know what you like best! I'll enter names in a random draw and announce the winner next week!

Unfortunately due to shipping, I have to limit this to the continental US...

There's so much to like about your setup. So, here are a few things I dig. These are in no particular order because they are all favorite things about your tank;
1.) The variety of coral
2.) The selection of wrasses
3.) The simplicity of the scaping
4.) (Semi-related) The willingness you have exhibited to share info but, more importantly, help others.
And last but not least... the similarity between these two things!

So there are about 8 things in your circle, soooo.... I'm guessing you are referring to these guys?

They are currently locked in an epic turf war... lol who am I kidding, the frog spawn is winning. The zoas grow much faster but they don't sting like euphyllia. They have set up a DMZ between them and negotiations are stable, for the moment.
