Turtle's Fairy Tale

Yeah, it sucks being "the nem guy" and telling people "don't get a nem", but I honestly try to be as honest as possible with people. They move, the split...etc.

That said, I would love to see you get another Golden Moray. I know how much you enjoy them. Never seen somebody so excited about an eel as you.

I really want another. They have so much personality. Ryu was amazing, so much color and he would come out when I fed the fish and poke his head out of the water like the clowns do looking for food. Just like a dog jumping on your leg begging for a treat. Maui was the shy one, always stayed in a rock and didn't like open swimming as much. He'd shake his head at feeding time letting me know he was hungry. I would have loved to have known more of his personality out of the nickel plated vanadium bathtub he was in...

That being said, I've been watching the divers den. They get a few here and there. I've also had my eye on the skeletor morays... but after that snowflake ate my lubbocki wrasse, then died itself. I'm kinda sticking with the eel that is too small to eat a fish bigger than a very small blenny.

I noticed a change in the tank after the recent addition of something in the sump that tipped me off, kinda like a chain of thoughts in my head that lead from one thing to another until the light bulb dang near blew up.

The mud?

Heading to Gatlinburg, TN until Thursday. First actual vacation in 2 years... long overdue. ATO full, fed the fish a big meal last night, extra nori on the clip and I just broadcast fed a nice helping of reef roids. I'm not going to worry with a tank sitter, not for just two days. See y'all Thursday night... I'll have moonshine and whiskey. :)

Love Gaitlinburg.

Love the muscle car museum!

Few pics before I head out...

This brunneus wrasse is always the first one awake. He gets up with the ambient light from the sun. Bonnie and Clyde are awake as well, but they keep going back to their sleep spot.

Trachy and blasto feeding on reef roids. Haven't seen feeders on the blasto yet, but it was sorta fuzzy like that at the LFS.

Hey you should visit on the way back haha! Although your tank is a whole lot nicer then mine... and bigger... but either way lol. Moonshine up here is really good. Definitely bring some back so you reefers down in SC can enjoy it. You picked the right time too, weather has been gorgeous for the past week or two. It dropped from highs in the 90s and lows in the 70s to highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s. Trees are turning, its beautiful.

Stopped by my favorite distillery last night. Well, one of their shops right on the strip. Ole Smokey. Did the sampling and bought a bottle of their blended whiskey and pecan whiskey(pronounced pe-can, not pi-con ;)). I really wanted a bottle of the Tennessee Turtle whiskey, but they have discontinued production and dont known when or if it'll be back in. I can get a good bit of their moonshine at the house. I have some 100 proof moonshine cherries and Tennessee Mud left in the fridge.

Fixing to hit the town today and explore while there is light... here is a view from my hotel room tho. Leaves just starting to turn, probably missed it by a week or so.
