As you know, a good macro algae growth is one of the cornerstones of the Triton Method, and we recently set up our 500 gallon Triton reef. so it was only natural that we create a refugium for it...Of course, when you have a large aquarium, a properly sized refugium is required, so we used this approx. 150 gal aquarium to house ours.
And of course, when your name is "Unique", you kind of have to do things a bit different...So we built this very large ball of Chaeto, designed to sort of float in the current.
We call it the "Chaeto Planet", and it somewhat resembles Saturn's moon, Mimas, wouldn't you agree?
Someone else suggested the "Death Star" from Star Wars, but we kinda felt the connotation would, well, be sucky when you're trying to grow corals! We don't have "The Force." We're "Empowered.."
And the cool LED light gives the "Elementz" reservoirs a cool look, too!
Just a little fun we thought we'd share...
Enjoy!
