So I am still prepping the tank for the transition to Triton and I have fully stopped using a kalk for a week now and my pH is just so low. It was reading 7.6 today with a fresh calibration. This is not a surprise at all because I had low pH before and my well water requires soda ash injection to buff the water up. I believe this is due to high CO2 in the water as I also have to bubble off the CO2 before sending the water through the RO/DI or it will exhaust my DI resin extremely fast. I am really bummed because I have done so much work to get as close As I can to the triton guidelines. I did not want to be second guessing myself later on down the line.

So I'm asking if any of you use kalk with the Triton Method?

I'm am currently dosing 17mL of Ca and Alk BRS 2part to keep my Alk @ 8.0ish.
I pretty sure that if I start back on kalk I will go over 8.0 Alk and if I don't I really won't be dosing very much of the core 7.

Thanks for any help

Give the Core7 time, you might be surprise how your PH turns out....

Mine sits an average 8.4

The Core7 has been refined to give a stable PH of 8.3 to 8.5

Ok I will do. I have the Core 7 here but have high aluminum and Lithium. Doing some water changes at the moment with TMPro and I will try out the Core7

I have never had pH that high unless I was on Kalk. I did add fresh/outside air to my Skimmer intake and pH this morning was at 7.81. Definitely a positive improvement. I am officially on the Core7 so hopefully it will keep me where I need to be. I have read a refugium will absorb some Co2 and mine is nowhere near mature.

Shortly after my last post I stopped Triton. It was very clear that it was not going to overcome my elevated CO2 levels in my well water

Yes. If you are not able to maintain your Alkalinity at 7dKH then you can add additional Alk supplementation.
