Hi everyone!

I was planning on adding a custom made bonzai rock scape to my Seahorse tank. It would be made out of cement.

I was wondering if this is going to cause any sort of cycle? Or if I added it in with my current live rock, would it be fine and not cause any cycle?

Thanks!

I think, when using cement to make rock, you have to let the dried cement cure for some time in fw,otherwise bad chemicals/minerals will be released in your reef..

i agree .....DIY rock from cement has to be cured in fw for quite along time to get all the lime out of it or else your gonna really screw up you PH in your tank..... it is said to soak the new rock for about 10-14 weeks.... until the ph drops to normal in your fresh water......i would say check out altenitive reef... they sell some nice rock made from cerramic...i believe it is ready to go
