Why is there so little water in the tank ? What is your salinity ?
I guess we'd need to know how you do this i...
Just like you said, but i matured out the salt like always.... instead of 5g at a time i was mixing for 30g (10g from existing tank to be added once the water clears)
What salt and what is the salinity of the tank now? I see a bag Epson salt in your picture. Not the correct salt for a reef aquarium.
What is your salinity ? First thing you need to answer as it might be the problem.I dose with that monthly.
Reef crystals salt. And i mixed a 5g bucket about an hour ago to have on backup supply and it clears in an hour. I just don't understand why this tank is taking longer than a 5g bucket to clear
Did you have the tank filled with the appropriate amount of water before adding the correct amount of salt?
You cannot add salt mix to insufficient water as salt mix components will precipitate.
They may never dissolve.
If you are adding water to the salt and not salt to water, it can cause calcium to precipitate out of solution which could be the cause of the cloudy water. Reef Crystals already has high alk/ca which can make precipitation more likely. Always add salt to water, not water to salt. What you want to do is up to you. If it's still cloudy today I would dump and start over mixing once the tank is almost full of RO/DI....assuming no live sand or live rock/critters are in the tank.Any ideas on what needs to happen now?
