I found these two worm looking parasites or bacteria? Was wondering if these are harmful to my tank or beneficial. I’ve never seen them before. Anyone know what they are. One was found in my carbon reactor, and the other was found in my main tank.
Hello,
Was cleaning my tank today when I noticed this weird colony of transparent tubes hiding among my scrambled egg zoas. They are probably my fastest growing frag, so it isn't doing much damage but I am just very curious. Do not see this among any other zoa colonies in my tank. Anyone know...
I bought 11 frags from wwc and this is my first time setting up coral qt. Back story i had a red planaria outbreak in my chaeto in my sump and took it all out and freshwater dipped the entire sump. This is the only time I've interacted with them until now. I put 2 smallish rocks in the qt just...
This jerk killed a few of my fish and I suspect some of the invertebrates in the tank. Never actually saw it kill anything but they'd be healthy one day and dead/gone the next so its likely\possible.
Anyway I wanted to let people know what finally worked and what didn't work since there's a lot...
I had a Duncan coral mysteriously die two days ago and now im seeing this strange red filamentous mass under my ricordia mushroom. Any idea what this is and if it’s dangerous? Here is the best picture I could get under white light, it looks reddish in color even under white light.
Hello! This is my first reef tank, and this morning, I noticed one of my zoa polyps wasn't opening, and next to it was this thing. Should I be concerned or take any action? It's the only one I see, and it would be easy to remove the island that the zoa is on. Thanks!
Recently i found these hanging on the glass of the aquarium, its probably from the liverock i put almost 1 month ago. Picture below. I’m thinking hydroids, feather dusters or baby aiptasia?? Help me ID and is it harmful??

I’ve had a slowburn of bad luck in my tank over the last 3 months, losing hammers, torches bailing out and so on. Things stabilized for a month, and in the last 2 weeks one of my acans, and both my favias have began going downhill, while watching the tank this evening i noticed weird growth from...
Hello all! I was cleaning and moving some corals around in my tank and found that near a colony of some zoas there appears to be some kind of brown clove polyp growing around them… which is weird because I’ve only ever had firework cloves in my tank which are never brown, even when young...
Hello, so iv been trying to read some other threads and the mixed opinions leave me thinking to post pictures and asking for advice to help best option.
4 yr old 13 gallon tank. No bad stuff in there to my knowledge besides bristle worms.
On my back of the tank I have small white tubes, which...
Anyone know the species ? Saw them walking all over a few mushrooms (these guys are same size as tisbe pods) I also saw them eating dinoflagellates (can only see them under strong magnification)
One of the mushrooms was closed for a few days - upon inspection noticed these white bugs crawling...
Found this little guy making trails through my sandbed, it's no more than 5 mm long, has two eyes and mandables, as well as front grabbers that resemble what a shrimp has, and then the rest of its body is long and shrimp like. I'm hoping it's a type of pod, but I'm worried it's a bristle worm...
Hello fellow Reefers!
I made a post a few days ago asking for help validating some hitchhiker ID's I made.
It didn't garner too much attention, but for the most part I got the answers I was looking for, with one exception (sort of).
At first I thought there was some Aptasia in my Acan colony...
Hello all, I was recently looking at my fox coral when I noticed this weird worm looking structure on the side of its skeleton. It seems to have a pattern of some sort? It’s not reactive to any touch or movement and it seems hard, almost like it’s a part of the skeleton. Could it just be a weird...
