Fish are Settling into Tank (All Fish Out & Really Peaceful Swimming)

We'll all that Territory aggression is over.

Strange how the Tank has Transitioned to Very Peaceful.

All Fish are Out and about. (Every Fish is in this Photo)

Cleaner Shrimp came out of Cave, and Mandarin Goby is very active since I added Live Tiger Copepods.

The Sunburst Anthias is Finally Used to he Love the Blue Chromis gives him.

Even the BLACK Capped Basslet is Regularly out.

I miss the Tomini Tang (his Colors and Personality)

Went to get Dirty/Compost for Tomato Garden (Came Home with a 4000 Watt Generator)

I do have UPS Battery Backup System enough for keeping my Tanks Barely Going for 8 hours.
For years I've wanted a Generator since with Global Warming we've had Ice Storms, Blackouts, and my Brother in Law Lost his tank (week without power during the BIG Ice Storm)

This 4000W Champion was on Clearanc SALE at the Canadian Tire Hardware store. Plus I had collected just over $200 in points for something special

28549614138_c440fbd8e2_z.jpg

So it cost me $129 out of pocket, which is something I thought I'd have to wait a couple more years to get on POINTS.

Nice insurance to have, Not only with my 90 Gallon Establish TANK but also with New Tank (SPS Only) on the Horizon.

Will be hooking up to Run Furnace During Winter, (Basic Tank Survial) and Enough spare capacity to Keep a few more household items going.

Power Generator is a Keeper (Working on Install) Have Parts, and Great Location

I was flip-flopping on if I should keep the Generator since Friend Said they are noisy. Also that there are Better ones....For more Money, or similar price but less power.

This was a great price and Noise won't be an issue during POWER FAILURE (rare). Pretty sure the Neighbours will hear it running and hope their lights and fridge were running too. (Fish tank too if they have one).

I convinced myself after a quick review on how I could set up my BACKUP Emergency Power.

ONE THING you never do is Procrastinate on a EMERGENCY SYSTEM since the Day The Power goes out, it may be COLD, there won't be LIGHTS, and No Time to Waste.

So here is how it will be done:

40628759170_6afcdba89d_b.jpg

- Found my OLD Power Bar (30 AMPType with 5 Standard outlets for Extension Cords) Scrap acquired from Surplus.
- I have a Basement Window Few Feet from my Sump Room
- Window is under the Deck but close to the Edge (Just pop it open and run the POWER BAR CORD to the Generator)
- Two extra Outlets on Generator for Standard Extension Cord, to First Floor Deck Kitchen Sliding Door. (Kitchen Tank, Fridge, etc)
- Wasteland next to Deck is perfect Location for Generator (Will make a Platform and Cover)

I have scrap wood from the Basement Flood Reno to make the Outdoor Generator Box, so I should have setup done by the end of weekend.

Then I'm setup for years to come.

Weird feeling (To have something you hope you never use).....
....but Dumb (To have a Generator, and when power goes out, you can't use it)

....So someday, maybe years from now (should I have SPS Colonies achieved over a long period)....I may be very happy I did this.

Nothing worse than having a Tank Crash (coral wipeout, of all Fish). (I know it's happened to me before...

A lot of bad things have happened to me over the years....
You learn a lot each time. (Experience isn't the best way to learn...)

All (my accidents, mishaps, and Disasters) are in this thread:

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/90-gallon-mixed-lps-tank-15-year-journey-to-★success★-every-accident-disaster-problem.326397/

** AND THAT's What ** PROJECT GENESIS ** IS
Like in the Star Trek Movie....Building a Machine to Trigger NEW LIFE on a Dead Planet.

This TANK and it's Journey is about to LAUNCH

I'm tuning up the Tank Water right now. The Doser is revving up.

And there will be one new TEST Frag in this Tank by the Weekend.

Great thread! Very thorough. Looking forward to seeing this come together!
This a great build so far, sorry for your losses.
Thanks. (Losses happen. Good news is 6 remaining Anthias are still ALL Alive. One always acts funny. MUST PARTY TOO MUCH when I sleep, since he's always sleeping Tucked under a rock, but get's active later in the day and joins the rest)

Who built your custom tank?
Miracles Aquariums.

Would you buy that same tank again from Miracles? I am looking for a custom tank so that is the reason for the questions. Miracles is within a road trip to pick it up.

Well after all the Picky customizations I asked for, I got them all. They had high standards for Durability and when I mentioned this would be for High Flow SPS, they limited my sizing on the glass thickness and type I wanted. So I know they stand by their design.
The inside Euro Trim Bottom Support is also something I didn't ask for. Was suprised to see it, but it's looks nice (thought it would be an eye sore), and it strengthens the overall tank.
I like their own version of External overflow. Works well and so quiet I didn't even have to do a Bean Overflow addition.
They did my tank Black bottom (which I didn't ask for or know about) and I love it. Black Film that is removable.
Silcone work is high quality trimmed, and the EuroTrim which I never had is a Dream.
They delivered ON TIME.
The only recommendation I would make if you are doing custom is stay on top of things. And I'm glad I visted before delivery since there was a adjsutment I made that they did for no charge, but in your case get a photo before delivery since you may change you mind when it's assembled.
So I'd recommended Miracles based on my 100% positive experience.
My sump which was bought off the shelve is a Miracles too. 12 years old and never failed me. I cut the center brace 5 years ago, and it's still perfect.

Darn!! Lost one of my original Anthias (Freak Accident) Jumped Out (no idea how with Cover on Top)

I knew something was wrong since the Pair of Anthias were inseparable.

There were there during feeding today, and then two hours later only one.

I search and searched. Nothing in QT, not sucked up pump or anywhere.

Then I found him like 6 Feet away from TANK TABLE.

How he got out, and got that far away, I have no clue.

I guess the Original 5 Purchase was meant to be a Five-Some going into this thank.

The OTHER Foursome are all doing fine.

QT #2 (Top Lid/Cover - Re-done) No more ESCAPES!!!

If I did a Proper Lid in the First Place, I'd have my Solar Wrasse and his last Anthias.

27575845147_0ce3c1d639_z.jpg

So a Must Fix since the other 4 Athias are coming to this QT Friday.

I didn't think Anthias were Jumpers. Wrasse's, Black Caps for sure.

LESSON Learned (twice) but better now in QT then later in DT.

Water Tests (After Tuning up Water Parameters) * ALL SYSTEMS go for SPS *

Did 30% Water Change last night to refresh system (Trace Elements), since tank has been Hands-off for 3 months.

[ I use Tropic Marin PRO Salt since I like the Low ALK levels ]

42404506482_bf65de921a_o.jpg

Things look good to throw in FIRST FRAG.

My Audinuo Doser/Water Changer is not yet setup, but I not a concern for minimal Load.

The SUMP Room - Sister Room (THE REAL MAN CAVE) is all Tidied up and Ready to Start Operations/Monitoring and Maintenance.

27584717237_6cd4752365_b.jpg

That ** Left Side Shelving Setup is NEW **

...Our Fridge broke down couple week ago, and before it was taken to Trashed, I stripped off in Inner Door Shell (and kept the shelves, bins, etc)
Kept the Wide Glass Shelf which nicely covers the Right Sink for a testing Workstation.

MY FISH QUEST IS OVER for this NEW TANK (After Losing Large Tomini Tang) FOUND A Replacement

So I went to Big Als for Blue Legged Hermits, but came back with a little more.

They had a SPECIAL on a SPECIAL fish, Isolated in it's own tank.

They wouldn't hold it for me to think about it.
They wouldn't take payment to come back tomorrow.

So I WAS FORCED TO BRING the Fish home.

Being Dripped right now. This completed everything I wanted for Fish Load on this New Tank.

40650864010_23ccd8ef44_c.jpg

Certainly Different. Never Seen one Before (maybe never noticed)

Reef Safe :)

Docile :)

I love The Color Blue and had a Power Blue Tang for a decade. Lost him to Velvet years ago.

hmm....Looks like two in there eh? (A Male and a Female Pair). Not a Tang.

Can you guesss what they are?

Nobody is going to take a Guess on what is in that Dripper Above (that I pick up from the LFS) ?

How about we make this a bit more interesting.

Are there any “T”s I ask considering the last word might be “Tang”. Perhaps, “Naso Tang?”

EDIT: whoops, thought it was four and four letters. I cannot count to five apparently.

EDIT 2: and now I read not a Tang. I am not doing very well at this.

I also thought “bluespotted”, “angel” and “fish”, but angelfish is one word.

Caveman,

TWO "T's".....You get another Letter, or Take Guess.

(No partial guessing, you must say the whole Solution)

3 wrongs, and you don't get more chances till someone else tries.

Maybe I should think of a prize?
