125 gallon beginner build

I used lanthanum chloride to lower phoshates in my system after I trusted someone that the Pukani Rock I added to my system was cured. It wasn't and I also spent about 2 years getting the system back in shape. Get a tester (I like the Hanna ULR tester) and see what's happening. No need to waste money unless the phosphates are there

Coming along well! I just added 40lbs of the caribsea life rock to the tank I’m working on. That stuff looks great.

I am looking forward to seeing how deep that sand goes for you. I bought 2 of those same bags for my 125 and I feel like I am happy with only 3/4 of one bag. I don’t want to go deeper, but I probably need to if I want certain wrasses.

I only want about an inch to 1.5 inches so it sounds like i May have some extra.

Just shy of 80lbs of the special grade dry aragonite. Seems to be a good amount.
I think I will end up addding a bit more to mine as I add water. Hard to get it around the rocks currently.

How are you handling the water? Mixing batches in the brute and pumping in?

Exactly what I’m doing with the water right now.

About 14 hours after turning on the pumps i noticed this foam building in the overflow drain section of the sump. Normal? I haven’t turned on my skimmer yet.
