I am impressed with the measures you took to prevent jumpers from escaping the quarantine
Haha, thanks. I think jumping is one of the worst and most easily preventable way to lose a fish. Leaving the tank uncovered would be like leaving cash hanging halfway out of my pocket, and that fish wasn't cheap.

Think I've lost one of my shrimp as I haven't seen it in 2 days and they are normally all over the tank. :(

I added Muffins to the display today. He seems to be doing well and it was so nice to get home after grocery shipping and just chill and watch my fish swim around. I'm hoping he stays up a little bit later since the display lights are brighter. That way I can see him after work.

I also cleaned the glass and sand, changed the phosguard, carbon, and put in a new filter sock. The Purigen is used up too but I need to regeneration still.

Did a 20g water change (finally). Siphoned the sand bed, cleaned the glass, changed the filter sock. Dosed Seachem (aquavitro) remediation to see what it does for the algae I've been having.

Sick today so spent a good amount of time laying on the couch watching the tank. Muffins went to sleep at 6pm, so early! I'm hoping once I add more fish he'll stay up later.

Noticed my blasto hasn't really been opening much the last 2 days. Also one of my cleaner shrimp (the original one) seems to be having trouble with molting. I noticed recently that he was missing 2 legs, one on each side, and his antennas were weird looking. Today I found a molt stuck to my powerhead, so I examined my shrimp again and one of the legs that was missing is now back but deformed and his antennas are still crooked. Weird.

Here you can see, he has the first joint of the leg but the second part is deformed and a different color.

Did a 20g water change, dosed reef builder and remediation. Cleaned the skimmer cup. Put all the old gross filter socks in a bucket with bleach. Killed another (very small) aiptasia on the blasto. Moved the acans slightly and put the knocked over zoa back in place. Scraped most of the glass, cleaned the sand bed.
That's pretty much everything I do for maintenance, and I do those things as needed but fell a bit behind last week so it all has built up. But now my tank is nice and clean again.
Here are some pictures I took from the past week.

I also got another McCoskers Flasher in quarantine. He has been doing well at the store for the last week, eating well and flashing all over the place. So I took him home today and he's now in a 10g qt.

Here's video from at the store.

Diatoms still coming back very quickly on the right side - within 24hrs.
McCoskers got 24hrs of prazi and then transferred, still doing good.

Just an update since it's been a while.
Still getting a lot of diatoms on the sand. And still not having a lot of luck with fish. My Earmuff wrasse, at least, is doing great. I have a Vanuatu hooded wrasse in qt. I was originally planning to prophylactically treat all if my fish for ich but I think I'm just going to do an observational qt +prazi instead. I just haven't been having any good results and felt like my healthy fish were dying just from the treatments even though they were relatively low stress treatments. It's starting to get really discouraging, and since I'm still taking risks and not qting corals or inverts I think doing ttm copper or cp are all excessive for fish that are showing no signs of ich. I'm not saying an ich free tank isn't worth it but I just don't have the resources to do it right now.

I added a few conchs to help with the diatoms (plus they are really cool). I also added a red and white Feather duster, and a neon green toadstool. I've started dosing Phytoplankton 2x a week to help boost my pod population and to feed the corals.

Got some new additions - a new Acan, favia, and blasto, as well as some gorgonians, and two red "emerald" crabs already in the display. A pair of jawfish in qt. Hooded fairy wrasse "Sherbert" still doing great in qt, gone through 2 rounds of prazi. And some new goodies that I picked up in the aqua sd sale arriving later this week. :)
