My bulbs have about 2-3 months of life yet so its time to move to LEDs. I love the look of my corner tank but it has posed difficulties in the past for the sump and now a DIY LED build. On to the noooob led q's..

1. Given the odd shape of the tank, who can custom cut or build the heat sink for me. Would it be easier to buy enough to glue (I guess in this case its weld) the heat sinks together?
2. Current setup is 20k MH with 2 T5 Actinics, to keep the color am I looking at a 2:1 blue:white ratio or more?
3. How many LEDs would cover my tank completely? I was thinking 92 would be enough, 1 led for each gallon. (30 cool white, 60 blue and 2 red).
4. Any benefit to adding green and red LEDs on the same string as the blues?

Thanks!!
Thomas

Well for LEDs i don't think you need 1 per gallon. For a 48 in tank you would need about 72 leds 36 a side how wide is your tank i know the shape is odd but whats the length. I think you can would jsut need a square fixture cuz i mean i doubt you need light all over the tank whats your rock work like?

Give bill at reefledlights a call or drop him an email he will most def lead you in the right direction.
