I have this growing on a piece of my marco rock, any ideas on what the heck it is?

Is that new rock, or existing. How long has it been in the tank? Looks like fairly new rock.

That rock has been in my tank for 5 months, the pic was taken under my led fixture. The color of the specimen is true. The rock was dry rock from Marco rocks. The system has been running since January.

Then I would say SkinZ is right. Probably a sponge. Have you introduced anything into your tank with the Marco rock. Also did you wash it before introducing it to the tank?

On a side note, I have a certain kind of Coraline that looks just like that when it gets stressed. I doubt what you have is what I have but it could be. Can you see if it breaks off like plating Coraline would or is it growing tight to the rock? I am still thinking sponge.

I wouldnt think it would be coraline since the rocks is so white on the rest of it. There would at least be some shades of pink, red on some other parts. The orange is def different. Woudl love to see a better close-up of it. Would also love to know what else was introduced to the tank to seed it since the rock was dead.

Yeah I highly doubt it is Coraline too. My stuff gets orange like that when I glue frags on it and they fall off.

The rock was new as with the entire tank in January. I'll post some fts's later.

here are some new shots of it.

The pink growth is almost flesh like and it's kinda like a tube. Also, there is another weird tube like crustacean growing on my rock, any ideas on what it is.

Also along with the above question, any thoughts on why my tank has been so slow on growing algae, my tank was setup on January with all new equipment, rock, substrate and whatnot. I never really saw a cycle nor an algae bloom.

The last pic looks like some type of tube worm.

Any ideas on this.

This appears to be the remnants of a type of tube worm. I've had a few different colors on my rocks, but quite so colorful as this.

The first pic looks like some kind of sponge to me, but that's a bit of a guess on my part.
