ATI Straton LED Light - Comments, Review, PAR, Coverage, Discuss...

I haven't read through this whole thread but I have been in contact with ATI NA for several months now regarding the Xs and the Pros. The Pros cannot be purchased anymore....anywhere. They also do not know when we will see the Xs in the US...if at all

X's have landed and will be available VERY soon, pros are discontinued unfortunately. They needed to consolidate

Where are you getting that info from? Everyone I have talked to (Including the ATI NA rep) has stated he still has no word on when they will be here? I hope you are correct....I have a build that has been on hold since the end of last year waiting on these lights.

You talking to Greg at clearchoice? Nyos (ati) is being very particular about distribution right now but saltwater aquarium just posted publicly on Instagram they will debut it at reef stock this weekend.

No...at least I don't think so.....but maybe I am lol? I am talking to @ATI North America here on this site. As of right now, he says they still do not have any confirmed dates or prices on the sale here in the US.

I had a great experience with ATI but I don’t think I’d go with them again just because it seems like when they release a light, they almost immediately release a successor. At least starting with the Stratons?

I was rubbed the wrong way with the Pro 2’s being discontinued less than a year after they were released in America.

I hear ya. But haven’t Straton gen 2 pros been out for a while in Europe though? Sucks it takes so long for their stuff to get to us in the US.

He is my rep. They have no ETA on stocking. Only an estimate of 30-60 days, but it’s not confirmed.

Still, I’m not a fan of the changes. What made the Stratons so superior is their overall footprint and density of LEDs. Now they stripped them down and made them smaller to show a nicer sticker cost (even though they were overall cheaper than other setups you’d have to add light bars to like XR30). They won’t have the same T5 like coverage. At least the Flex are still available.

I wouldn’t call the X a successor. People who were able to get their hands on the 153 and 204s should feel lucky.

I am slowly losing interest in waiting for the Stratons.....If I had to guess we won't see them until towards the end of the year at the earliest anyways.

At ReefStock today the SaltwaterAquarium people said they expect to have the Straton X in stock again within a month

Saltwateraquarium.com started selling the Straton X online yesterday. They quickly went out of stock. I purchased two Straton X plus the tank mount before the lights sold out. Will see if and when they ship.

Yeah clear-choice is scrambling, sounds like they will no longer be the distributor. Nyos/ATI setting up their own and as for saltwater aquarium they had 60 that sold immediately.

I agree with the others the pros are superior especially for footprint/price on large tanks but financially not viable for ati and they needed to consolidate in the flex / x. I personally bought a lot of the pro g2s and was frustrated as well with the almost instant discontinue but it makes sense. I do consider myself lucky that I got them when I did.

All that said the X is very nice and worth the wait, it is a radion killer for sure.

Feeling upgrade FOMO....the Straton X looks like quite the impressive light....

Just need to figure out how to sell my 3 OG Stratons. Doesn't seem to be a strong market for them.

Our second batch is now up for preorder. We expect to receive them within a month, hopefully sooner.
