can't backup AP9X

Hello, I'm having trouble backing up my AP9X. When I use the backup button in the app (connected to the AP9X) , it doesn't like my wifi. when I switch to my home wifi and use the backup button it still doesn't like my wifi. Any ideas to what I'm doing wrong, or is there a user guide other than the app manual? I've searched and haven't found anything. I can give more details if it's needed. I have backed it up before so I know its capable of doing it. thanks.

My wife got it to work but I don’t know what she did yet. I’m planning on posting what she did in case it may help someone in the future
