I personally wouldn't use this light on a reef tank, doesn't specify chip type or wattage or spectrum. I have an Aquamana fixture that has given me quite good results so far. This is a smaller version of the one I have. It covers 24". I know its not the best but it works for me :)

I do like this light. Does it come with a fixture or would be something I would have to hang from the ceiling?

Well, even macros need specific wavelengths. This light doesn't show anything about the wavelengths. For all we know, it could be basic LED's. At the very least, check out the orbit marine fixtures, or even the BME's http://www.buildmyled.com/saltwater-products
You're right. I was looking at the light I linked before and this: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Element-Aquarium-Light-Fixture/dp/B00AS1OEC6/ref=sr_1_13?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1444158223&sr=1-13&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin:7043877011,p_n_feature_fifteen_browse-bin:7955306011

Unfortunately I can't pour too much into a build. I'd like to pour alot more into it, but I have a 6 month old baby and another on the way
>.<. I stepped out of the hobby for a bit while expecting my first and now I know I do have the money to support the hobby albeit not going to expensive. Plus the missus just got a new better paying job :D

Edit: I'm aware that the light I just linked may not be as good as the one from before. Though this one shows stats.

That ones looks nice too! You'll get better coverage, more wattage too. Those are 3w diodes.

Does it? Awesome. Lighting has always been my downfall.

I spent more time reading on it and I think the DM12-E is probably better for me.

Reviews seem to go much more in their favor.

it comes with a steel hanging kit so unless you have a canopy hood or something you can rest it on you'll have to rig up a bracket or if its against a wall use a wall hanging kit from a hardware store.
mine rests on 2 cross pieces in my canopy. This is the 100 LED version.
