About two years ago I started on a reefing adventure and am glad I took the plunge. I started with a 60 gallon tank and you can read the thread here if you are interested.

Once I started adding livestock to my 60 I quickly realized that it wasnt going to be enough to satisfy me. I slowly started with the subliminal messages, informing my wife that an upgrade was necessary. After many trips to the LFS, and just as many "We could have XYZ fish if we had a larger tank honey..." she finally gave me the go ahead to purchase a 120. I was confined to 4' worth of space, so a 6 footer was out... for now .
I found a killer deal from a localish guy who was moving and needed to clean out his fish room. It wasn't my ideal tank, but for the $100 I cant complain too much!
I really wanted a single sided overflow, so with a little elbow grease I was able to remove the right side overflow. I siliconed in a small piece of glass to cover the factory drilled holes.
I decided that I was going to build a 2x4 stand that had a compartment for my Apex and other controllers to be mounted in/on.
Slowly started to dry fit everything and get it going.
Then finally after many long days and a little frustration, I was able to have it up and running.
I decided that I would go with a Gyre xf 250 for my powerhead. Short video of it in action.
Overall, the transfer from the 60 to the 120 was a much larger project than I had anticipated, but the work has sure paid off. I love looking at this new setup, and cant wait to get past the new tank uglies.
Here are some current photos of the tank and livestock.
