Couple more bits added yesterday. Getting really quick corraline growth which is good so hopefully it will compete with algae quicker than normal.

Had a delivery of some coral today, i see potential in some of them! Last lot was dipped 3 times and now in main system. They didnt gain much colour, hopefully more stable water in main system will help

Just over a month down!! The uglies have well and truly arrived, hair algae is going nuts. Maybe it wasnt a good idea to add coral and a tonne of light so quick. Meh the snails and rabbitfish are slowly mowing it down. I think another 2-3 weeks and it should be under control.

My blue tenuis has all but died. It started to STN in frag tank and display. Really weird that the same coral had it happen in 2 different locations at the same time. I had to frag it up some more so hopefully some of it survives.
Moved a few pieces from quarantine into frag tank. Come have lost alot of their colour with the dipping process. Lets see how long it takes to colour them up.

New lights have been on since last Saturday, im running the coral colour program with a heavy cloud function as per some recommendations i read. I guess this is so the corals aren't getting scorched all day with the high par output these things give. Im now getting about 620-700 across the top middle and 350 most other places. It has pretty good spread for a LED. Only down side on the end i get shadows again:(, im still getting used to the colour of these lights also. I did really like the T5/Led combo i had. Algae is still going strong, i think it subsiding but its hard to tell. Im just letting it run its course.

Tank is kicking along nicely, pretty much all the hair algae has been gone for a few weeks now. Its only on 1 bit or branching rock for some reason. Some other algae is popping up here and there though. Bloody snails introduced it even though i was so careful.....I have been buying so much coral it feels, the grow out system is pretty full so i had to move some corals onto the bottom of DT to make room for more. Dam this hobby is addictive. Lights seem to be doing its thing, im still on the fence if i like the LED look, the shadowing is kinda annoying me still. My sand box has been a complete failure, stupid urchin lifted it up and i went everywhere .
Last 2 shots are some bits on quarantine, hopefully the yellow one stays yellow!!

Small update. Added two more gyres to the tank. I had 5 waver makers in there before but wasn't happy with the flow. Saw got a pair second hand and flow seems alot better and less pumps in the tank with only 3 gyres. Thought I'd share my sump set up to.

Pretty simple, fuge does all the nutrient export and I run carbon which I change out once a month. Currently dosing 3 part and dose trace elements also. Litemeter swaps out 10% of the water a week.

I have a grow off of my own going in the frag tank to. I have 2 bits of what could be "fireworks" so waiting to see how they turn out. P4230128.JPG P4230127.JPG P4230121.JPG P4230120.JPG P4230099.JPG P4230101.JPG
