OK, here is my embarrassing Flamethrower frag. It was tiny to begin with, and it's been to hell and back (hell = lost in my gravel bed for 3 weeks :squigglemouth: ). Where should I place it for best growth... I don't care about color right now.

I run 250W DE 14K Phoenix on Icecaps. Its a 30" tall tank and the lights are about 6" above the water. Bulbs are brand new. I even know my general PAR values throughout the tank, if you want to throw some actual numbers at me :nerd:

And just noticing in this macro shot, I think I need to scrub that algae off too. Why is it the ONLY plug with algae?? (of course)

Thanks in advance!

Peter is that the one that u posted with the empty frag plug a while back?

It can handle a good amount of light even 400 watt halides as long as it is acclimated. It is a higher light chalice than most for best color and growth. I have my colony 16 inches below 150 watt phoenix bulbs and it grows decent and colors look great.

I think the best way to help it grow faster is to feed it as oftern as possible.

Yes, that I will do. Not sure there is much of a mouth to feed at this point, but I can try sprinkling some very fine food over it with the flow off, at night.

Yes, yes it is!

i would ask roshi719 since he's the guy that know's the bpc ft.

Well, he is who I got it from, but I figured I'd get other's input as well :)

OK, that's what I remembered reading. I just wanted to confirm it.

Mine is about 10 inches directly below 4 36 watt actinic T5s, and is growing well. Not sure what that would equate to with the de mhs. Happy to see you found your frag.

I have had mine cooking about 18" below 1x 250w DE XM and has developed a nice orange rim and sprouted another eye, colors are insane.. I don't feed

Looks like higher light FTW :) Well, it's already on a frag rack quite high up, but obviosly slightly off center since it's attached to the glass, so I will acclimate it still to brighter light.

mine is on the bottom under 400w ushio 20k's. It has grown fairly fast for a chalice. I think I will try moving it up a little. I rarely ever feed it (too lazy) I got mine from coralfarm 123, a year or so ago(cant remember). It started off a little smaller than a dime now its a little bigger than a silver dollar. Mine has lost some of its shine recently, not sure why. I am sorry to say your frag looks about the size of the pink ******* frag I got from a vendor here and am having the same issues as you. ha ha

Yup, you can bake the FT under light. That and feed and she will grow.

I have had it in 10" of water under a 400 watt halide with no problems, so I would say put it up top if you have a spot Peter

I agree with Morgan, acclimate it to higher par and you'll definitely get much faster growth, I cooked the crap out of a few of my Watermelons and the higher par sparked good growth

Well, I will tell you from experience that even a micro speck of a pink ****** will grow pretty quickly  It too likes light!

We have ours under 10inches of water under a 250w de ushio 20k. She has already put on a new eye. I have the Purple Erkle beside it and it looked pretty beat up from shipping ( it got really cold here) but has started to come around pretty nice also after only a few days.

Nice! I'm going up to see Hugo this Saturday :)
