I've got to frag this soon. It's extended from front to back glass, with about two inch gap at the front glass. It growing on to the back glass!

See the white edges at the curls, that's growth! If it wasn't for Kalkwasser, I'd need a calcium reactor to keep up with it! Beast!

Thank you! Marc levenson from meleves reef had one much bigger in his 400. It was a purple monster about two feet in diameter. He had to frag it during a tank reset.

Well I got my microbiome test results back and it's not pretty:

Got some work to do!

What I've suspected as diatoms is cyanobacteria on the sand bed:

Going to go get some bottled bacteria after Thanksgiving and add some. Looking at microbe lift special blend.

And they recommend some pieces of live rock taken from the ocean to add bacteria diversity. Makes sense honestly. But begs the question of how often one would need to reseed a tank.

I have a tank that scored very similar and it has dino issues.

That's why I believe to add some bottled bacteria. Could be why my N03 is so high. I've read that some hobbyist add bacteria once a week to once a month. Kinda thought that wasn't needed, but now I'm thinking differently. Adding bacteria with some reefers helped with keeping cyano away due to competition.
