Good morning, everyone,

My name is Queezy and I’m new to the saltwater aquarium hobby. I originate from Brooklyn NY but recently relocated to Central Florida close to Orlando. If you know of any aquariums that sell coral and fish, please recommend. The reason I joined this forum is learn from the community through inquiries as I will utilize you all for your expertise. I’m still learning so much about aqua scaping and saltwater in general. I do have some questions regarding the set up. Below is a list of my equipment as of 04/15/2025, as well as some general questions I do have.

My set up consist of the follow below:

90 Gallon Tank and Stand with 2 Hole internal overflow.
LED Lights (I don’t know the make and model as I brought all the equipment used.
29 Gallon Sump with Fiji Baffle Kit.
Heater
Hydor return pump.

I do have some questions regarding the set up.

What are some best practices when it comes to cleaning used equipment?

Tips for choosing dry or live rock for my aquarium.

How do I cycle my tank?

Welcome. I’m a Brooklynite too.
Tons of knowledge up in here.
Would fill up tank and sump and get it running with regular tap water to get familiar with things. Add a couple of gallons of white vinegar. Regular food grade white vinegar, without any additives. Let it run for a day or two. Clean tank glass then drain, breakdown and go throu all the equipment with brushes and…
