Only " rule" I really ever found is broad blue band and lots of photons.

Rest is err cosmetic.

But my philosophy is its for enjoyment so stay in standard guidelines and its all good.

It’s always so hard to develop the right color. Interesting in knowing whether you prefer limes or mints. Couldn’t find the wavelength for mints to put in the chart to see spectrum changes

Mint is just under-phosphored limes.. If you have a blue channel well.. why mint?

I just know nanobox used mint instead of limes at one point and everyone loved it

The color was discovered after switching to the Luxeon C LED on the V3.1 array. We have been using Lime for three years and have had incredible success. The mint spectrum nearly mimics lime however has a peak under the 450nm ( wavelength ). As you can see in the graph below marked

Depends what you need.. :)
Luxeon has the "pallette", CREE has the efficiency..
Bridgelux has the new "winner" in high CRI white COB's..

Oh snap… those bridgelux look nice. Can use one of those rather than adding neutral and warms

There are, and a few both fw and sw that use a cob or 2.
Depending how you want to define it..there are no blue "cobs"...

There are sort of driver issues and design/ lensing difficulties.

Strings of 3w diodes are just .....easy.

the more I look at it, the more I feel reds aren’t needing. Maybe in a freshwater aspect yes, but not saltwater when using a couple warm whites and neutrals.
