Yup, it is fun to watch the fish react to him. My wrasses open all the way up and even turn sideways when they want to be cleaned. Its just an amazing sight.

I'm just glad you didn't get him in an attempt to sure ich, as I've seen so many times. :)

Just wanted to post a quick update.

I picked up a couple pieces this weekend. I really nice favia from Klaus and a little maxima clam.

I also picked up this really cool Lobo and another favia

Been running the tank now for about a month with the Kalk reactor and thought I would share some results.

The first week was a little jumpy but after 1 month and only 1 water change the Alk was at 9 and the Calcium was 420. I was really shocked that it would be where it is. THe first week I bumped it up with my 2 part. and then nothing after that.

Just mixed up some water and will be back on my normal schedule now that I know things are doing well. We will see how long it lasts as things start to grow.

Ok time for an update.

I did take a couple fish out and trade them. Purple tang was abully and flame angel was a nipper.

OK changed out all the lights and went to all LEDS !!!! I had narrowed it down to reefkoi's Evolution LED's or what I have the vertex Illumilux and reefbrites.


I went with 3 4ft strips.
1 vertex illumilux all blue and 1 vertex 50/50
1 reefbrite 50\50

I cut the wattage way down no heat issues and gained the shimmer. Now we will have to see how things do. I also upgraded my skimmer to the Skimz SM201. I had the cone but thought the pump was alittle loud for me so I bumped up to the 5000 pump and am much happier.

I took a lot of pictures today to show color and to have something for me to see how the corals grow and color with just LEDs..

I did one here on the sk201 and to me the pump was loud. So I went to the sM201 it has th bigger better pump and its pretty quiet. only been running a day so ill give it a couple days and write something up on it.

Never heard of vertex illumilux maybe i should take a look at those too. I my friend has a reefbrite all blue and it looks killer on his tank!

the blues are cool. The vertex uses cree LEDS. Running them at 2.5 watts using meanwell drivers. THe all blue vertex uses royal blue and blue cree leds and the 50 5 uses royal blue and cool whites.
