Just wanted to ask a quick question.

How many people have LR stacked on the walls of their aquarium?
I have read that you shouldn't stack the rock against the wall because it might weaken the wall and cause leaks/ruptures.

Anyone ever heard of this before or know anyone that this has happened to? Do you think it's complete nonsense or do you think there is any truth to it?

Maybe if you have ALL the rock leaning on it or sometthing. I don't have any stacked on the back because I like to get a lot of flow back there.

I have rocks lean against the back wall of my 29Gal with no problems. The only problem is if algae starts to grow on the wall it would be hard to get to with my magnet cleaner. But let's just hope that never happens.

this is complete non sense... you can stack your rocks against the wall... I've always have pieces of LR touch the walls on every tank I had..

sorry Jeni.. guess that was kinda confusing.. :)

Well, thanks for the input all! My hubbie had me worried that I was going to have a wall rupture and water go all over the floor like that scene in the movie Eraser where the aquarium wall broke and the gators went all over everywhere.

The biggest thing is how much rock is putting weight on the glass, there isn't an issue really unless the whole rock structure is pushing weight on to a small surface area. I have heard of it but that is just word of mouth and no evidence. So I don't think that you would have to much to worry about....
