I've seen videos of wrasse tearing into nori but for whatever reason mine never did until this last change of brands. My KwaZulu had an eye injury that seems to be making leaps and bounds towards healing in just the five days since the switch. I don't believe in cooincidence and think you're right. All 7 of my wrasses eat from the algae clip. I think they are more omnivorous than we give them credit
Ps. If you get tired of your roseafascia, I’d gladly take him off your hands. I haven’t seen them available much lately!
This thinking...I think stimulating bacteria slightly as you said and adding maybe some possible new strains with a Fritz or Dr. Tim’s would be a good start to bolster your reef.
Adjustments to the fuge light seem to be working well. We added 4 hours on saturday and sunday i bumped the intensity slightly from 84% to 88%. Also dosed NoPox a couple times in case I was carbon limited.
Phosphates were at .61 Saturday before the water change. Tested yesterday at .29 and today after multiple feedings we’re at .18.
Nitrates went from 20/30 Saturday to 10ish yesterday and 2.5/5 today.
Alk holding steady at 8.6.
Numbers actually coming down a touch faster than Id like so I dropped 2 hours off the fuge schedule but kept intensity at 88%.
So we’re on the right track.
Light intensity and flow rate will play a pretty big roll in how effective it will be. Once you’re into the sump and can get a stronger light on the chaeto you should see a big change. I love the kessil however theres many options for $40/50 from ebay that will work just as well.I was at .316 with hanna ULR. I ran 24/7 chaeto light for 5 days
Impulse buy.... stopped by an LFS this afternoon and came across a gorgeous Swallowtail Angel for $65. Couldnt resist and not sure how this is going to work out but we will see.
Fingers crossed! The tangs are the worry ;NailbitingI hope it works out great for you!

Tank is looking great, I have always wanted a swallowtail angel, but too much of a coward to risk an angel in my reef.
Thanks! As @ngoodermuth said there are a few truely reef safe options. Swallowtails, Spotbreast, Bellus to name a few.Tank is looking great, I have always wanted a swallowtail angel, but too much of a coward to risk an angel in my reef.

Both beauties! I usually prefer female coloration with angels but if this girl turns male I won''t be bummed out at allI would love a watanabe, or one of these:
