I would say 7 days - assuming that it was the kanaplex that made the difference, as compared to just time. Are you checking your parameters?

My calcium is a bit low and my phosphate is way high. I added a reactor last week.

So you would do one more dose?

Is it just one eye? My skunk had it twice now, each time it was a different eye. I believe I found the culprit - he's gotten bigger and had trouble using one of his main cave entrances as it was too narrow. I think he accidentally scratched the eye against the rock trying to fit in. I propped it up a bit, so now the entrance is large enough again.

Anyway, in my case I didn't run any antibiotics. The pop eye gets a bit worse over the first 24h, but should gradually start getting better, mine fully recovered in around 8-10 days each time. I just made sure he was getting well fed and kept up with excellent water quality.

This LOOKS TO BE FROM AN INJURY AND WAIT AND SEE IF PUFFINESS SUBSIDES otherwise treat with Maracyn, not maracyn two

I think his was a scratch. He just came out of qt 3 weeks ago. The two tiles I have dug out a big cave for their new house.

Kanaplex is supposed to be limited to three doses over six days to avoid toxicity in some fish. I know people go a bit longer, but the label says a maximum of three.

Here's the thing - non-cloudy exophthalmos in a single eye is caused by a strike injury, not bacteria, so unless there is whiteness or redness developing, bacteria isn't involved.

You need to be VERY careful moving these fish - they are very flighty and even thrashing their heads around in a net can cause this.

I would follow jay's advice. I was under the impression was that the dosing was 3 doses every 48 hours.

I misunderstood how you were dosing - I thought you were dosing over 3 days (I missed the 5 days in your post). Again - I would follow Jay's advice on this. PS - if this were more likely bacteria, kanaplex may not be the first choice as compared to maracyn
