Slightly bad news. The guardian of the shower is no more.

Today, we remember Herbert -- My shower spider. Herbert lived with me in the shower for about 2 months, the longest shower spider I've ever kept. He was survived by hot shower mist, the occasional wet q-tip, and about 3-4 ants per day. And like two gnats one time.

My entire house was flooded with ants this summer. And like a superhero, Herbert showed up to murder them quietly in the night. Herbert is now in the great yard in the sky, pal'ing around with @Amoo's old guinea birds.

A little Reorganizing.. My frag tank overfilled a little quickly, so much so that I had to pry my corals off their fancy 4" tiles and put them on 1" square plugs to make room.

Here's a quick and dirty cell phone pic. It's getting dark, lights are ramping down.

Overall -- I've got much more room now.

A very touching arachno-eulogy for Herbert, the spider. I am sure he/she will be missed.

First package going out today. Scheduled a FedEx pickup for 4:30pm.

Apparently the FedEx guy was literally in the neighborhood the moment I finished the shipping invoice.. Keep in mind it's a scheduled pickup at 430pm, and it's 11am. Imagine my surprise when there's a knock at the door within about 2 minutes of purchasing the shipping label. FedEx, asking if it happens to be ready. Sorry FedEx guy!

I can imagine it takes time to prepare Herbert for shipping to send him off to his final resting place. Lol.

Nah. I'm going with the mummy approach. He'll be dried out on his web like an ever vigilant guardian. I'm gonna assume that's what he'd want.

7 corals in one box. I could have just barely fit an 8th if I had a tad less water in the bags.

So the first package was delivered successfully. All corals fine, water was a tad cold.. Bag water was at 72*, but they were bagged at 77, so 4-5* temp drop. It was pretty cold at delivery location though, 48* this morning there. So not too surprising.

Looks great to me! It looks like the two corals in the last pic are about to start fighting.

Optical illusion, they're at different angles. Although my snails are getting big... Just need a 1/2" spin to make em touch !

Otherwise, introduction of sand gave me a diatom bloom. Not too bad but annoying none the less!

And my favorite slowest growing coral (picture three, left side) developed a bald spot with algae growing out of it... So that's fun. I've pulled it off a few times but just keeps growing back.

RAP CA is done. I wanted to put up more content.. But I ended up way too busy. Ah well...

This is only my 3rd time working the show. So far, I ended up with almost no time to actually enjoy the show itself. In my spare time I walked in circles closing doors that the vendors / guests left wide open. Friday was hectic, Sat had some moments but was easy going, Sunday was mundane. But there's worse problems!

Ended up with a couple corals and a ventralis anthias, and a Scully @mdbannister gave me. Oh, and my Geo reactor too.

What nice come ups! Well done.

Try to get a picture of the anthias! I’ve always been envious when I see ventrailis

You either have a bimaculatus or parvirostris.

They were labelled as Ventralis by QM I thought? It would be a female bimac then, doesn't look like the parvirostris. The females look like juvi ventralis to me, I think you're right!

Ah well, she's a bit big for my tank and a bit aggressive so I won't feel bad giving it away then.
