The MLW-20 has arrived and is in. I had to tune down the flow to 50% as I felt it is too much for the torch and hammer coral.
I am quite happy with it overall but the software for the Jebao could be improved.
I have done a little write up about it and posted it here.

Enjoy.

just discovered that my hammer is building a baby on the side. I will try to post a picture later.

And they have now separated. I have moved the baby on the sand where there is more light. It has opened up nicely. I will put it on a peace rock later

And after almost 5 months I have done a water change. No other reason but I was siphoning the sand and doing some fragging and since was expecting water loss I have mixed 25l of water. I was like may as well use it.

I am like an elephant in the porcelain shop managed to break one of my corals to peaces. So mad at me but now I have a lot of frags :) I had to move this one anyway as my hammer decided to eat it alive. I was hoping to do the work with less damage though

the outcome is not that bad after all many recommended to do it every other week. So fare I am not convenient.

on the other hand my Hanna ULR was coming up odd reading (5.4dkh) and got suspicious. Opened an another bottle of test fluid and it was almost 12 dkh. What a difference. Tuned down my alk dosing too o don’t want it that high.

for entertainment here is the latest pic of the tank. Sorry about it so blue.

It has Ben a while I have updated my build tread. I have been busy and while I haven’t abandoned the aquarium it was running on autopilot sort to speak.

And of course the war we don’t talk about here also diverted at least some of my attention to twitter.

But there are some new things in the heater failure build.

I have decided to give another go to a CBB. I was in the shop about 3 months ago and this one said take me home. :) She (or he) was eating frozen in the shop and was the right size and healthy so I said ok then.

I went trough a few things trying to get her settled. First I had to divide the aquarium with a net so the Scopas tang couldn’t get to her. The fight calmed down in about a week or so while I had constant battle with the net moving and breaking corals.

Thanks to the large amount of feather dusters feeding wasn’t a problem during this time.

Than this bugger didn’t want to eat anything I had to offer ( clams, frozen food, even tubifex) so ended up ordering live black worms online to get her started. At first used a coral feeder but it was way to label intensive. Washing the worms wasn’t my favourite too.

I have started to search and came across

probably the cheapest worm feeder in the world from Ali express. Cost me a £5 for 2.

Feeding black worms this way was heaven comped to coral feeder but my better half was upset about worms in the house. Well it is temporary I said and soon turned out to be right.

After about 2 weeks I started to put frozen to the feeder replacing 1 live feed and bingo she is happily snacking away, picking food from the feeder later going after swimming food too. Now only frozen food coming from there

She is not big on eating aptesia though. Excepting it from a tweezer but not eating it from the rocks.

As result of feeding like maniac I went trough a 3-4 week cyano outbreak with sky high nitrate and phosphate levels. A couple of water changes and more cheato harvesting took to back to near ideal levels and of course the chemiclean also was required. Now more or less free of the aftermath of the changes.

The corals otherwise growing nicely. I have some spares I have t take to the LFS to replace maybe some other easy SPS f some sort and my hammer needs trimming back but I don’t have the hart to do that yet.

Looking good! I’m hoping to get a CBB later this summer and started a worm culture recently. Thanks for the detailed update!

There was no update for a while so here it goes.
In August I have got 2 new SPS corals. I just couldn’t resist one of them as was only £10 for the 2. I have put them higher in the rock works as kind of a test corals.
I can already see some growth so I am happy with them. I think one of them would be happy with less light too as the more shady part shows growing.

last week the epic failure of equipment happened. Nothing epic about the failure of the heater but since this is the heater failure build it somewhat funny. Good job I have a heater I use nowadays only when mixing salt I could put in production while the replacement arrives

Love your setup and corals.
What kind is the first one that is purple with green polys?

Glad you like it. That is a Purple Stylophora. I am in love with it. Grows quickly and not very demanding. I am planning to get some red and green variants too.
