I had one for about 6 years and he was awesome. He got big enough to see his red teeth so my Gal Lisa started calling him Dracula lol. Was a beautiful fish with personality but he started taking bites out of my fleshy lps so I rehomed him. I'm no longer keeping those type of coral with no plans to so I figured I would add one again.
Oh yes, Jello's teeth are clearly red.
I don't currently have any LPS in there at the moment at all, but that's good to know. He's my favorite fish, so I'll stick to softies in that tank if I have to.

Happy Sunday. Another week = another update = another contest entry.

Video update under mostly white. Tank is transitioning towards being a fish tank first with coral taking a backseat. I'm tempted to just start sticking pieces of gsp on the bare rocks lol. Leathers are doing well. Zoas are struggling as has always been the case for me regardless of tank parameters. SPS say no way Jose. Even monticaps don't do well. Fish are fat and healthy and I have my acro tank to get my coral fix so I'm not going to fret.

Acros can be so much fun. It's like riding a Rollercoaster that may crash at anytime. This is one that was in my 170 that I pulled and moved to the reefer 300 and it seems to really like the move.

We got more snow the last coupe of days. I don't love snow but I'll take it over mud and my boy loves it.

My girl thinks I'm a goof and doesn't get why I'm looking at her through a roll of tape. My creative side coming out :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Till next time

I had an opportunity to purchase a Niger but think my tank is about maxed out especially for bigger fish. Can’t have them all.
The tank is peaceful considering I have 8 tangs so I was hesitant to add another fish but figured I'd chance it. So far so good. He was out this morning and ate when I fed. I haven't seen a tang give him a second look. I don't want to push my luck so the Niger will most likely be the last addition unless I loose a fish. I know some folks like to push the envelope but I can't stand watching a tank where fish are fighting a lot.

And of course mom moves.

I've never tuned in with a dog like I have with Narbe. He knows what I'm thinking before I do.

Reef related content but nothing to do with the tank this thread is based on.

I decided the 29g was just too small to move the reefer 170 into so I set up the 40g breeder rickety stand and all.

Coaxed the blue haddoni out

It took about 30 minutes to get it to detach. I just kept blowing on it with a feeder like a long turkey baster.

Last time I checked :thinking-face: it should settle in.

I wish I knew the majic to keep rock and sand looking like this :crying-face:

Nems foot is on the glass yay. The clown is in but she's hiding and hasn't made her way home yet. I thought she was going to go in but she didn't. To be expected I guess.

She host it in the past?

Well she found her nem. I didn't figure it would take long. When I first added her over a year ago it took 10 minutes and she was in. Want a fish to host in a nem get a ckarkii. I think it was OrionN that said Clarkii are like STDs and will host in anything :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

You ever try and put some mastick and nori up and capture a video of them all side by side / all together?

The naso and vlamingii would steal the show with the large purple and convict right behind. When I feed I have to mix the food with water and leave the powerheads on so it blows all over as soon as I add it so everyone gets food.

That makes sense. I forgot about the rest and just assumed. It hit me as I was reading through the post and saw you had both captive and wild in the same display. The whole one is brighter or better than the other vs no one can tell, bla, bla, bla.

I thought it was neat that you had both in the same tank.

I'll see if I can get a video for comparison. If I get a decent one I'll link it here and tag you.

Thanks. Nothing you have to really focus on but not going to pass up a cool photo or video :) Honestly I have no opinion of the two if I am being honest. I own a Scopas tang who is not too fond of his/her reflection so I've not tried to introduce another Zebrasoma.

Hope your day is well. Also thank you for the updates in the thread.

how is your naso tang? that's my dream fish and if I could get at least a 125 and keep a small one until it outgrows the system that would be great.

I love mine. She's been with me for over 8 years. Her and my purple of 6+ years are my sole survivors that I saved when I had a velvet outbreak a few years ago so she's even more special after that. She's big but peaceful.
PXL_20241107_012354623.jpg

EDIT : Her and the purple are one of the reasons I set up the tank in this thread. They were starting to look cramped in my 180 and I wasn't willing to rehome them so bigger tank it was.

such a pretty fish. id love to have one in my next tank. do they graze on the rocks?

What's the size of your QT, presuming you have one of course. I'm still trying to figure out what size go with my 203g. If you do run a QT, do you have two? One for fish and one for corals?
