Turtle's Fairy Tale

Ok, I'm jealous. ;Drool

I'd love some blue hornets and a red acro. I have some red color on the bottom of my tank but not much on the top since my red dragon died.

Under the whites...

Blues from yesterday, I'll edit this post tonight when blues come on. Their color is better today.

That was well after lights off last night. Well, if you can still call 3am night. Im still stuck on night shift and, well, Red Dead Redemption 2 is that addicting I didn't realize what time it was. Ok, here is one red picture of the ASL Red Delicious. Yep, cheap red LED flashlight from Amazon. Check out that PE. Must be only night time because it's gone again now.

Oh yea, sneak peek...

So, I finally tested my water. After two months. I know, bad Turtle.

Calcium 450 ppm
Alkalinity 9.4 dKH
Magnesium 1200 ppm
Nitrate 12 ppm
Phosphate 0.64 ppm
Salinity 1.026 SG

So, I'm gonna dose Mg back up to 1400 over the next few days and keep the fuge on for 18 hours a day. The glass is staying clean for a day and a half now. Even then it's just a light dust instead of the green paint it was. The nutrients are high, but the tank looks fine. I'll let them come down slowly using chaeto.

I need to find another green slimer. Never hear of purple/blue , that would be really cool :)

I used to have a blue stag. Wasn't called a slimmer, but grew the same. This weekend I may be picking up a frag of that blue tip stag I had this spring. It isn't doing anything in my friends tank so she said I can have it back.

Well, I lied. There is something I can do. Water change via skimmer. This thing will not stop going crazy. Even after the 20% water change, being on a 3" stand way above recommended water height, and being on max recirc...

Hahaha, yea that's my "Turkey baster." Its extendable to about 2 1/2' and has a bulb end and even an extendable "tooth pick" on the end for target feeding an eel or other fish you don't want biting your fingers. I pulled the bulb off and the ID of the feeder fits the OD of the drain tube on the skimmer cup almost perfectly. I turned my ATO off, added a gallon of 1.026 and I'll let the skimmer overflow a gallon out, if it overflows that long.

I'm 5'8" first thing in the morning when I wake up, or afternoon depends on my schedule... The top rim of the tank is going to sit at 60"... that is only 8" shorter than I am. Arm pits and shoulders are going to get wet with this tank. Might need a snorkel.

#shortpeopleproblems
LOL! Sounds like me! but I am 5',1" and our 75 gallon tank comes to my shoulder. I still need to drag a chair from the kitchen table to stand on to get to things way in the back of the tank!

Welcome to the Fairy Tale!

You would have fun working in my tank.
