Super cool! So tiny.... But will be fun watching them grow!
Yea it will be. I went to my LFS looking for some more of the Elos cyclops food, but all they had was the brine shrimps. So I picked up two cans of that, some more Reef Interests Nannoflakes(seriously good algae flake) and some Elos spirulina.

I'm gonna set up some brine shrimp to hatch and grow out in my 5 gallon so I can have a steady supply of live brine. Tonight I'm going to rinse the chaeto out over in the 90 and get some of the pods and add to the tank for some food. I know these guys feed off of very small organisms likely already in the tank, but I want to make sure I have an abundance of food available. I doubt they will eat much of the frozen. I may place an order with Algaegen for some pods and phyto also. Fresh pods and phyto never hurt.

I'm slightly concerned about predation from my royal gramma, but since they are on the bottom I dont think it will be an issue. He never goes down there and only eats from the water column.

I hadn’t thought about predation....At that size they’re probably vulnerable to more than fish.
The only other things in the tank are; a few dozen asterina stars, one astrea snail, one money cowrie, one sexy shrimp and two porcelain crabs. The crabs, maybe... but they usually stay up top with the rock flowers. The strawberry crab was removed to the fiancee's Reefer, and not seen since.

You have any pvc tubes too narrow for the crabs? I'd probably give them emergency shelter until they get more confident.
Good idea...

Oh, forgot one more inhabitant, the candy pistol shrimp. They are supposed to cohabitate so I dont forsee any issues there. If they make it into its burrow, the basslet will not get ANYWHERE near them.

Even a moderately sized worm could potentially get them if it caught them sleeping.

I only bring that up because I think a worm may have gotten at least one of my Yasha gobies. Saw it hanging around their cave a few times. Both gobies just disappeared on me and I did see the female afraid to return to the burrow once while the worm was near the entrance. Was probably only 2 to 3 inches long but she was terrified of it.

No worms in any of my tanks. I've made sure of that.

Worms are bad, I don't care how many people tell me bristle worms are harmless cuc... they will eat stuff you dont want them to. They will destroy a healthy clam overnight. Eat at it from the byssal opening and get inside. Clam cant even close up and defend itself.

We did a thing. Theres been a fish we've been wanting for a long time. They are rare, only pop up a few times a year and they sell out quickly. They are very small, you could call them miniature miniatures. They get about 2" total length, but the ones I got are much smaller. Much much MUCH smaller.

Ok, so you're probably saying, "Turtle, just tell us what you got already." Well, it's a Gressingeri goby, or a flaming shrimp goby. They are about 1/4" each. That's right, one quarter inch. I was expecting 3/4" to 1" fish, but... they came much smaller than that. These guys are so small I lost them in the shipping bags several times...

They both look very healthy and active, and I placed them on the sand bed next to the rocks using a small glass bowl so that they wouldn't get lost or blown around by the current.

What kind are these? I really love them. I think they are the ones I had on my list.

Gressingeri gobies. So small I haven't seen them since I released them into the tank. Fit inside your pinky nail small.

Update on the miniatures. The mangroves are doing well. The straight one has finally sprouted its first leaves! I had to reglue the support for the straight one yesterday, and in the process of moving the inTank basket and the powerhead, somehow broke my basket and cut my thumb. :( We'll get a new basket soon, my thumb is ok too. It's not a deep cut but it scraped some skin off bled for a while. I can't wait for these to grow out into little trees coming up out of the tank.

We also picked up another succulent at Lowes, and the fiancee got an ivy plant we put in a hanging pot. It's not near the Menagerie, nor is it miniature, but I though it was cool the way it turned out in the pot. I added some 5-5-5 organic fertilizer and organic potting soil to top the pot off, then hung it between the living room and "sun room/dining room." Lots of natural light there so it should do well.

Wow, so... long time no post.

The holidays are over and the long period of tank neglect is over. Today, is maintenance day. For a lot of my tanks. The betta tank is just fine, altho the baby apistos are getting evicted tomorrow. We've shut down the Reefer250 and moved those fish over between the 90 and here. Finally, were doing water changes on the 90 and the Menagerie.

@crusso1993, @Brew12, I'm typing right now.... ;)

Mangroves... they are growing. Slowly, but surely. I wouldn't consider them as a nutrient removal source. Not in this number at least. Maybe when they get older? They grow much to slowly right now... they just have a cool factor that macro algae doesn't. I've had to stand them back up a few times. I even glued a rock in place to hold one, probably should on the other but it has stayed in place for a few weeks now.

I said I moved fish over here. I did. The second pair of clowns came over. Their names are Little Man and Big Mama. My wife named them... the Reefer250 proved to be the straw that broke the camels back in my capacity to care for multiple tanks, and she just wasn't that interested in it. As I already have a pair of full grown clownfish whom have been established for a year and a half in their tank and out size this pair by at least 4 times... I placed them here. They are black snowflakes, and get along with Blaze and Ember just fine.

The rest of the tank is doing well, but needs some minor maintenance. I have some algae growing on one of the rocks, and in the sand. Ricordea and RFAs are ok, but would benefit from some clean water as well.
