He's a flame wrasse. They're a beautiful fish. I have a mated pair and love them.

Already posted in the ID thread, but here was my response:

That's one you will likely never see in person. It is a C. lanceolatus, a 6"-7" aggressive fish that is basically not available in the hobby. See here for more info: http://reefbuilders.com/2012/02/23/cirrhilabrus-lanceolatus/

P
lease don't refer to it as a Pintail Fairy Wrasse though! That is a completely different fish although its scientific name causes confusion as its C. cf lanceolatus. It is related to C. lunatus and C. johnsoni; a much smaller and much less aggressive group of Fairy Wrasses. See here for a list of all Fairy Wrasses for your viewing pleasure: The world's fairy wrasses of the genus Cirrhilabrus - Reef Fishes Only - Singapore Reef Club

Please don't take this the wrong way. How and when did you become so knowledgeable about all things wrasse? you seem to come out of no where with a lot of knowledge. I'm impressed. you are local to me I have seen you on the BRS boards too. I love the diamond tail in your avatar.
