Looking to get a red sea 170 soon, and was wondering which single light qould be best for a mixed reef.

1. AI 26 HD (new)
2. XR15w G4 Pro (new)
3. XR30w G3 Pro (used)

All would be about the same cost.

Thanks for your opinions.

I like the ai only because right out of the box its wifi controllable. If you dont have the reeflink by ecotech you cannot create schedules for the radions without plugging them into a PC and programming them.

I have the GHL Mitras on my 170. I would pick the XR15 with a diffuser. On some 170 threads people upgraded from the XR15 to the XR30, not for the extra PAR, but having two pucks over a single puck.

The AI will absolutely work, just think the Radion with diffuser is best choice. However the need for Apex module or Reeflink might make the AI better as @crabs_mcjones said
