Errr....so now vendor's shouldn't look to buy pieces for resale? This confuses me, cause if they didn't do this, we'd all pretty soon not have anything interesting.

And I thought the OP was talking about profit and buying corals to resale them, it didn't say anything about unhealthy fragging practices, so my apologies if that's what this was about. I hope you understand my confusion considering the OP and the thread title.

No my point was that for me it's OK for anyone to do it. That if Bayreefer has a problem with a hobbyist then he should have a problem with the vendor.

Dont agree,you are the holder of the coral you buy from a vendor and to take advantage of what is already overpriced is what Im talkin bout.

I'm going to bow out of this though as it seems there's no real discussion going on, just you wanting to vent. I'd just ask next time you label it as a vent, not as a guilt trip or judgement of your fellow hobbyists.

You lost me there. how did that vendor get the coral. He purchased a colony and fragged it or purchased a frag and grew it out right?

It's just a rough subject to cover being vendor or hobbyist....I see frAgs sell all day long for 100$ plus and then see the same colony for sale for 49.99$ for the whole colony once in a great while.... Finding those good deals make you feel like you got ripped off before but when you were buying the hundred dollar frags it was all good... Been there and done thAt... I never batted a eye buying a frag for 100 to 200$ and now I found a huge colony for 50$ that has 60 frags the size of the one I bought for 100$ so that means I'm sitting on 6,000$ colony????? Nope just means I scored!!!!!! Lol
That just happened to me recently and I felt ripped off but in all reality I wasn't that's just part of the game.... I have no problem buying from hobbiest but there post count better be up there and they better have some feed back before I would pay top dollar for something.... That's just me...

I think where things are getting confusing is your talking about intentions and there is no way to know someones intentions, whether they are a hobbyist or a vendor. I guess it's up to us to protect and police ourselves by the use of forums and feedback section like here at R2R.
