I know this goni is known for being difficult or finicky. I've read many posts of it doing great and then suddenly die. I am concerned mine might be headed in that direction.
I dose Mn and Fe daily, all other Gonis are doing great and so was this one earlier in the month. This piece has closed before for about a week and then was fine, but it's now on 9 days closed up. Should I just wait it out? Photo from 9/2 and this morning.

Goni's are funny that way. Some do great, others may not. Something obviously is irritating it. I would start with a quick Iodine dip. That always seems to help LPS out even if that may not be the solution. The next thing would be parameters. I've had some gonis where they are fine for the first week or so in my tank, then they decide they don't like something. Could be flow, could be light. But give it some time if you do decide to change things.

Good news is that goni's will be fine for a while if they close up. I wouldn't worry until you start to see flesh recede or polyps start to disappear.

Yeah, was debating on iodine dip, but wasn't sure if moving it and then giving it a bath would tick it off more which is why I was thinking of waiting a bit longer. Appreciate the response.

I’ve had Goni close up for seemingly no reason for a month or more then they just start opening again. Amazeballs doesn’t require anything different from other goni so your water is fine. If it was happy in that spot then the spot is fine. Something could have happened to it like a fish or invert bite. Or it could just be dramatic, a trait common with amazeballs. I would do an amino dip/soak then place it back.

Dip in lugols iodine tea colored, 15 minutes. Only way I’ve seen a goni come back after retracting like this. Recovered a glitter bomb recently, took a few 15 minute dips couple days apart. General rule im following if its closed for a week start dipping.

Mine had been closed up for a year until I moved it to my high nutrient softie tank and it opened up like nothing. In my experience (echoed by some), Amazeballs do not like being in tanks with other gonis. When I learned that, I moved it to my new nano and it’s opened up and slowly recovering.
