best way to raise alk

i have a calcium reactor running and im adding kalk as top off but my allk is low still and was wondering if i should just add more soda ash or should i concentrate the dosage of kalk. i just dont wanna get a cloudy tank.

I was just gonna say the same thing...Mag is key to maintaining consistant alk levels...I learned that the hard way... I check my Mag regularly...

ok thanks ill test that later because i kept trying to keep it at about 9 but drops to 6 by the next night and i cant concentrate the top off anymore or else it might makes it cloudy and i can see clumps of it in the water

This all sounds strange. What concentration do you mix your Kalk? You Ca reactor should not increase Alk, or the Kalk too much. What do you use to dose for Alk? What is your Mg level.

im getting a new test kit for magnesium tomorrow, but i was adding kalk to help raise alk
